  1. yo.. cool down REM...

just follow the advice from amy.. and u have a new set.

i think perhaps u have misunderstood the situation.

i wrote to Amy about the 4.1 's sub problem and she told me in detail what is going on.

my friend's both set of 4.1 have faulty sub problem.. and look at where i came from..under my nick, i am from malaysia... just think of my friend's frustration..

not even 2 hours running in after unpack, and the sub was a goner, and it happened twice. and he was screaming up and down.... but he got his replacement from the same dealer after a week, and now.. no problem... and AMY took the trouble of answering my mail everyday....

so cool down.. u will get a replacement.... and at least wait till they send u the replacement first before u complain.. cool down....

  2. klipsch should just keep out with their good work.. if not because of klipsch, i will never have a set of wonderful speakers siting underneath my pc table.Bravo!!

people should just realise that technology is forever advancing, in order to keep up with the market, and the trend and the advancement in technology, klipsch move to come up with 5.1 should not be critised but instead should be praised. as basically a speaking manufacturing company... klipsch cannot just sit there and stick to 4.1 for pc.. there will always be revolution where new ideas and design will pop up in the mind of the engineers.

i strongly believe that klipsch has a lot of experience behind them... 50 years of experience..... to cater for the needs of the customers and supporters. and we are not in the position to critise them.

i noticed that klipsch is good in backing up the ver2-400 and 4.1specially with Amy unanswering my mail almost daily.... keep it up.

and so.. a lot of people out there will be appreciating klipsch 's move to launch the 5.1.

if possible, i don't mind keeping my 4.1 and buying the 5.1.. and boy.. i shall rock the house. heheheehee

i myself just owned the 4.1 for nearly a month.. keep teling myself i should have waited.. but come to think of it.. might as well buy both.. hahahahahahahaaa.

keep it up klipsch.. no regrets.. just enjoyment.....!!!

  3. hey paradigm...

    hahahahaa..

what i really want to say is only the first part of what i wrote.. about the appopriate things to write in klipsch forumm..

if your paradigm is better than quintex.. so it is better .. who cares...... ...

all i care is that my promedia is sitting inside my home...nice and sound....

if u think it is not worth it to buy a 5.1 pro.. than... no problem.... enjoy your paradigm.. nobody is pushing u to buy 5.1

    now the serious part

rasionally, klipsch design the promedia 5.1 with a target at certain group of people.. and they design it with specific ideas in their mind , what it is suppose to do.. and what is it good in.. so i believe is the same thing as your paradigm

there will be people questioning whether it is worth it or not to purchase a 5.1 and have the same opinion as u do. and whether it is worth is or not at that value. which u say is 650canadian bucks.

your paradigm might worth more than that. comparing to another 5.1

that i understand. but ............. no matter how good is your paradigm.. to u.. it still depends on people taste for it.. ...

u like the sound, and value over money compare to pro5.1.. but some other people will think the other way around. and u can have your debate till the next year.. or till someone started to publish review on pro 5.1

or someone started to bring both systems together and run their audition on it from the same source. than people can make their judgement with their own ears.

    sound is very individual.

it is the same thing as promedia 4.1 vs sirocco 4.1

or pro 2.1 vs sirocco 2.1

endless of debate, .. and ended up, some people just say all those crap based on reviews.. ..

  4. hi guys...

i am a new member in this forum.

anyway.. i think the purpose of klipsch creating this forum is to let the public voice their opinions and the problems or any other issues related to klipsch products.

since that we are now under the 4.1 sub forum, i guessed it is more appropriate for us to discuss issues related to promedia 4.1

of course, in this world, there are better speakers than the 4.1 like YOUR paradigm. but i am very happy to own a 4.1 and of course, there are better speakers than YOUR PARADIGM.

but it is endless to compare, some people will come in the future and tell u that paradigm sucks, and they prefer something else. how will u feel???

and worse of all, u come to klipsch forum and say that paradigm is good .. and STUPId enough to compare a 5.1 home theater system to pc speakers. hey... don't u think that you have bullshited enough??

if u want to compare YOUR paradigm 5.1 to klipsch product, perhaps u can compare to klipsch Quintex or Sinergy Series or u can try even comparing to The Reference Series???? or something equivalent!!

and stop trying to show that YOUR paradigm is good and if u want to spend 700 canadian on pc speakers, than go ahead. nobody from this forum is going to force u to buy klipsch promedia.

and don't yawn.. u will feel that we are not the same level with u, and u are above us, please don't talk to us then, no need for u to write all those nonsense and make a fool out of yourself.

go and publish your findings in other website, some general one perhaps, tomshardware, sharkyextreme.. but not in klipsch. then over there, u can talk whatever u want.. u can EVEN say that KRELL reference series sucks, u can even say Martin Logan sucks..

or U can even say Yourself sucks . hahahaa.....

or do u think that your 700canadian bucks are so huge in value that u outrank everyone ???? and the sound is soooooo good that it can challenged the klipsch reference series???????

u r one hell of a big idiot running naked around the town screaming 'promedia lost to paradigm'

what an idiot, i will just laugh at u.... hahahahahaahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  5. 5.1 looks really good, but buying that means buying a new sound card for me.

    anyway... i don't think i need to 5.1

i just got the 4.1 for nearly a month. but i waited for it to reach malaysia for nearly a year, from the ver2-400 till the 4.1

    hehee

anyway, my 4.1 has a power on-off switch at the rear panel of the sub and has a detachable IEC power cord and it is 230V

  6. in this forum, people are suppose to ask questions about their related problems on the promedia. so most of the time, u r going to see a lot of questions related to problems, e.g. overheating sub, cracking, and etc.

i myself own a 4.1 and has no problem so far.

i got this set together with 2 other 4.1 and this 2 has overheated sub. so my friend got 2 replacement and both work fine.

don't get turned off just because u see these problems in the forum.

to tell u the truth, i don't even look into this forum before i purchased the promedia. after my friend got his problem, than i started to look into here. hehee

  7. i think for me i will be happy to stick to the 4.1

the 5.1 will not be cheap. if it is around the price of the 4.1, klipsch will definitely stop production on their 4.1 cos of the marketing strategy.

and if it is 100 US dollars more expensive than 4.1, the price is already expensive enough.

and if it doesn't come with a decoder, that's mean that your sound card with have to do the decoding, than for people with no decoder built in sound card, it is another upgrading for them.

and if klipsch gives a decoder, the price might even reach till the videologice digitheather dts range. killer price

but we will have to wait and see.

  8. the promedia 4.1 with 230volt does indeed has the power switch button and the button is placed next to the power cord at the rear. This version has the detachable IEC power cord.

and it also comes with the mute button at the control pod and also has 2 color LED, red (when mute) and green (when unmute)

but check your connections first. could be a defect somewhere.

does your promedia box mention anything about 230V and the model for the 230V is promedia 4.1/230

  9. i guessed that the warm sub is normal.. but we are experiencing sound quality deterioration and worse still the set is placed in an air-conditioned room..

perhaps overheating is not the answer

i have my own set placeed in a non air-conditioned room and i ran it for 2-3 hours.. so far i have not get what my friend got with his sub.

i did experience warm rear panel . quite warm but not to the extend of hot.

anyway.. i need some feedback from KLIPSCH techical support people.. anybody can help me on that??

    thanks

  10. i have a friend who switch on his promedia for few hours.

at the beginning, the sound quality was good.. but it started to deteriorate after few hours and the cracking and distorted sound started to appear.

and we noticed the very hot subwoofer back panel. and my friend have to put fan at back.

but the sound quality was really good at the beginning.

so we suspected that the deterioration was because of the heat.

and if this is happening, we will be very dissapointed at klipsch for overlooking this important matter.

and my friend has two set of promedia 4.1 and both woofers went very hot and after that the sound started to get worse even when the subwoofer level is very low .

    i need reply quick....

  11. hi

i heard a rumour that klipsch promedia 4.1 cannot be converted to the 230V version due to some dificulties in maintaining the 400W RMS and have to be downconverted to 250W RMSin order to have the 230Volt version.

Is that true? because i will be soon receving the promedia 4.1 which is already converted to 230V by klipsch. with no external step down transformer. i need some clarification on that as soon as possible.

    Urgent

    thanks
