Now some shots of the entertainment. I'll be watching TV and sporting events only in here. Movies are for the projector. So the sound was not as important to me in here. remember I still have paint touch ups to do so I apoligize for the white spots on the walls.

Here is the AVR and the cable boxes. For now Im using my Onkyo 509. I was gonna use the Pioneer 1121 but decided against it for 2 reasons. 1. it gets very hot and there is not much space for it to breath where it has be located. 2. The depth made it difficult to fit all the cables I have under there. The Onkyo is about 3 inches less deep and with 2 cable boxes, an apple TV, 6 speakers, a sub cable, 2 fridge wires, and the power strip there is just not much room under there. Im debating on getting a newer Onkyo or a marantz slimline AVR for the bar and moving the 509 back to the livingroom but time will tell.

Now we have the most important part... the bar!
Not sure about the Rockstar fridge's placement but it's there for now.
Today I picked up 2 Lava subs that will be going under the sink area. I'm taking a chance on them so we'll see how they sound. They don't have to be awesome just be able to give my little Klipsch sats a bit of punch. If they suck I can always take advantage of the 30 day trial period and return them.

Here's the bathroom, the THT (which I traded BTW), and a portion of the "wifes" area.
So I actually traded the THTto a friend for 2 reasons. My wife hated it and did not want it taking up space on "her" side of the basement, and my firend has been searching for a big sub to go with his RF82 setup for a while now. I decide dto kill 2 birds with 1 stone and make the switch. I got a bunch of bar items for it like glases, stools, and the rockstar fridge.

ok... so I have another update. I still have numerous things to do like drywall patching, paint touch ups, finish the drop ceiling (just a small part of it), more decorating, make a sign, and install the sub(s). But all the things I was counting on contractors to do are done. So here are a few pics. I'll ask my wife to take some quality shots with her 5100 soon but for now you get my iphone.
a couple shots of the floor from last week. now some of these shots are more up to date then others so don't let that confuse you.
The floor is a product called Nature Stone. It's just small pebble mixed in a 2 part epoxy and spread on like concrete with a trowl. It gets up to 6500 psi, has air pockets that add an R value to it, and lets the concrete below breath. We even did the basement stairs with it. It's also fairly shiny and looks great.

Alot of work has been going on. Floors are down, plumber is done, trim is painted/stained, and the electrician is coming Friday to finish. I'll update with pics soon

My wife is a professional photographer. She uses the Nikon d7000 and d5100 right now. Unfortunately I use the iPhone 4s! Lol. I understand what your feeling. When I first hooked up my Epsom 8500 I was floored! I wonder what the 90inch LCD looks like? But honestly for $10k it's not worth it no matter how it looks. Not when u can get a perfect 100 inch screen off a projector for $1600!

No comparison IMO. I've owned both in the same room do it was an easy comparison. 62 blows the 52 away. I currently use rb51's as surrounds and an rc42 as my single rear surround. They all sound great with my rf7's.

I had an XPA-5 for a while and it didn't seem to make a difference from just using my AVR amp. I am now using 2 125 watt onkyo amps with my tx3008 and it sounds great. My room is fairly small though so I can't take full advantage of the RF7's anyway.

Im doing a product called "Nature Stone". Basically small pebbles in a mix of resin. Google nature stone if your curious. Perfect for basement application.

Most of what I actually did was easy. Time consuming but fairly simple. I framed out the bar and installed the cabinets, Painted (crappy job cause I hate painting), Tiled, ran wires, stained, and re routed AC/Heat ducts. Had the pro's do the wall framing, electrical and plumbing. Contractor's will be doing the counters and flooring as well. Fellow forum member "Brunt" helped alot with some of the wet work. He owns a sister bar called "The Rebound". I assist him with some electrical and he helped out with the heavy lifting. I'll try to get him to post some pics of his bar. He pretty much built it by hand from the ground up alone.

So here is the rest of the space. If your facing away from the bar and looking at the 46 inch TV on the stone covered wall this area would be on the left. Mostly going to be the wife's area and she wanted it to be white. There is a drop ceiling going in on that side because we just have too many pipes and things in the ceiling we need access to. The glass door is an exit through the bulkhead. Kind of a crappy space because there are 5 doors in it and the ceiling is low. 2 closets (1 with double doors), the exit, and a bathroom. The only thing that is really going to tie these two areas together will be the flooring.

Projection is the way to go. You won't regret it for HT. The only drawback IMO is not being able to watch with the lights on. As long as that doesnt matter to you then your in for a treat. Rent or buy the IMAX film "HUBBLE"...it's amazing!

I'll take a pic of one of the box labels and post it. It's just a slate tile though. I still want to put a sealer on it just to make it shine. It doesn't "need" to be sealed. It's just a look I'm going for.

Progress on the rest of the basement. 2 TV's in bar area (pictured is the 46 inch) and ill be using WB-14's and a pioneer 1121k.

We'll have a 39 inch tv behind the bar and a 46 inch on the wall across the room.... if you have not seen the new Westinghouse "ew" models then you should check them out. The picture is very good, not great but very good. The high points on them are the price ($399 for the 39 inch and $549 for the 46 inch), the depth is super thin, and the outer bezal which is also super thin. Similar to the new Samsungs but a lesser picture at 1/3 the price. This is the 46 inch model here.

I am using a spacer on the mount right now until I can find a shorter bolt... then the TV will mount even closer to the wall than it is now.

Current status of my HT.... finishing off the rest of the basement and my HT has become the storage area for the time being. At least my cat is enjoying himself.[:|]

So I started phase 2 of my basement makeover. Finally feel confident that our water issues are a thing of the past. So we are adding a bar area with 2 tv's and musical entertainment, a half bath and another area for my wife. Here's a couple pics of the bar area progress. Counter tops and trim go in next tuesday and the flooring goes in next Saturday.

The RF-52's would match the rc-52 and be cheap. But the rf62's are a BIG step up from those IMO. You can't go wrong with the 62's.

I use my epson 8500ub to project 100 inch screen and my seating area is about 10-11 feet away. I thought about selling it for a while because I would like to use my room with the lights on at times and you can't do that with a projector. Then I actually got some free time and watched 2 movies a couple weeks back. After watching TV on my 65 inch TV then going to the projector again I was super happy. I had forgotten how sweet my projector setup is and how much it adds to the "Movie" experience. I imediatley ordered a wall mount, 30 feet of HDMI and a drop down screen. I decided to keep my projector. I'll still mount a TV on the wall and just use the drop down on movie nights. If you have the means to add projection to the mix I would do it. You won't regret it.

Just get the one that looks the best in your setup. Unless you live in an area that has an unstable power grid or have issues with your home's power then you'll never notice a difference in performance.

Couple more shots.
Here are the heaters...They are basically electric fireplaces with LED lighting, fire crackling sound, and each has a 1500 watt heater that can be turned on for winter use. The first 2 pics are of the unit in the wife's side, and the 2nd two pics are on the bar side.
