  1. Im loving them right now, there definitly better then my RF-62's, they have more bass, have overall better sound, and dont seem to be as fitiguing at higher volumes.

No sub in your sig. Your not running a sub? What are your 82's crossed at? BTW my buddy has the same front 3 and they sound awesome. He has a big room and use's a paradigm dsp-3200 for a sub.

  2. If you want an "actual" HT then you will need a sub. Anything less is just a step up from a sound bar IMO. Your room is similar to mine in size however mine is sealed. I use 2 elemental designs A5-350 subs. ported 15 inch subs with 500 watts RMS. You won't need that much but it's a refrence point for where im coming from. I have heard many good things about SVS and epik subs. SVS sells a killer 13 inch sub and epik has a dual 15 inch that everyone reccomends. Check out those websites. Also the in ceiling rear surround will be fine.

The rf 62's and rc 62 are much better choices in a room that size. Your avr should power them fine. If you have the money for an AVR with preouts (for an external amp) then I would go that route. That way if you decide the AVR power is not enough you can easily add an amp to it. Otherwise you would have to sell your current avr and buy new (wasting money as my wife would say lol) it can be alot to take in so do it slowly... and welcome[pi]

  3. Gonna add a sub at some point. Might be my Tuba HT. Kinda feel like it's wasted in my small HT with the 2 A5-350's. If not then probably a smallish 10 inch sub cause really don't need alot of sub in the bedroom anyway.

First off, that mirror setup is really slick, well done. Also, might I recommend taking a look at the Energy Mini subs for your bedroom. I switched from RF-25's to Gallery G-28's in my living room and knew going into it that the bass was gonna suffer accordingly. So at the same time that I purchased the G-28's I picked up 2- Energy 800Watt Mini Subs to flank the TV and sit right below each 28, on the ground. They come in a piano black finish that perfectly matched both my Plasma and the 28's and they're TINY. Well, 3 weeks later and Ive already sent one of the Subs back because having two was overkill. I really didn't think that it would be and I was and still am bouncing around the idea of just throwing one behind the couch in case I ever REALLY need it. Being a Klipsch product by association you can use the Klipsch wireless sub kit with these allowing you to put it anywhere in the room without running wires, nice option. They also make a 1200Watt version of these but the pricing is like 230 and 450 or so (actually I just checked and the 800 watt has gone up to 288), for the 800watt & 1200 Watt, respectively. Thats why I bought 2 of the 800 waters to begin with. Anyhow, they are nice little subs that IMO are better suited to TV/Movies then they are music but can still pack a tight punch depending on the music. Ive listened to quite a bit of DirecTv streaming music through them and it was kinda hit or miss on the overall sound quality. However, I also think that this has a lot to do with DirecTv, so Im not ready to place full blame anywhere.

Thx trevermill. I originally wanted the cabinet to be about twice it's current size. However the roofline on my garage had other ideas. Lol

  4. JJ Carney, very nice and neat looking, that's a huge Tv for a bedroom. Yes

Couldn't help but notice some strange coincidences, we have the same bed and the long leg style jewelry box, and the same color curtains and a lamp just like that just a little taller.

I guess I need to tell the wife we need a Tv like that in the bedroom, thanks Yes

That's funny. That tv was my black Friday score last year. We love it.

  5. Well, I thought it was actually a pretty good deal considering the original cost and what I thought RF-7ii's were going for ($3200). Plus, no need to worry about shipping or anything like that. Now that I know that I can get ASD to ship me out a pair today for $2k (along with the other speakers I ordered), I think it doesn't make sense to get the old version...

    I agree

  6. So sounds like your paying alot for the 83's? I would pay more than $8-9 hundred for a set in perfect shape. Not when the rf7ii's can be had brand new for under $2k and the rest of your speakers are series ii already. if I already had an older rc64 and older surrounds then that completely changes things. Matching your entire set makes all the difference (visually to me). I'm not saying the 7's are $1000 better than the 83's (cause I doubt they are) but I am willing to pay the extra cash to have my gear matching in some cases.

  7. Jason, How are you liking the MultEQ XT32 on the 3008? Is it filling the gaps left by the previous Onkyo's? I hope that you're happy with it, I know you went through quite a few receivers to get to this one :)

At first I wasn't noticing a huge difference. But at this point I feel like my room is getting more dialed in with sound via settings on the equipment and what seems like a constant search and fixing of rattles. So to your question I am liking the xt32. The THT has thrown a small curveball in but it actually integrated itself quite nicely. Still don't truely have a need for it with the A5's though.

  8. The relativly new bedroom setup. 65 inch LED lcd, Pioneer 1121, ps3, apple tv, Klipsch WF-14's. No plans for any surrounds. Gonna add a sub at some point. Might be my Tuba HT. Kinda feel like it's wasted in my small HT with the 2 A5-350's. If not then probably a smallish 10 inch sub cause really don't need alot of sub in the bedroom anyway. (edit) sorry about the dirty mirror. didn't notice in person but the pictures really bring out the smudges. Time the clean it I guess.

  9. Decided on a stain today. It's a dark reddish cherry. Tried to match the dark cherry klipsch. I would say I was unsuccessful at matching however I do like very much the way it turned out.

  10. I've made a couple changes. Surprise surprise right. Well I went back to my eD A5-350's in the wall and sold off the 3400's. I also bought a 3008 from gorm and replaced the XPA-5 with 2 onkyo m-282's. Of course added the THT but not sure if that is staying. I'm gonna take some nice shots with the wife's camera and post them soon.

  11. My avatar has the rf63's and the rf7ii's. The colors are much different. The older cones are goldish and have an almost flat bottom. The newer series is a bronze color and shaped more like a cone with a pointed bottom. Thing is that even the screens are different so just keeping the screens on is not an option (if your looking for a match). Look at the bottom fronts of the screens and you'll see what I'm talking about. The feet ate very different as well, but shouldn't make any difference to you as the rc64 and the rs62's don't have feet anyway. I have a thread that shows my HT changes along the way and those have some good shots of the 2 different series. http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/150180.aspx page 1 shows rf62ii's and rf63's. Page 8 has some great side by side shots of rf7ii's and rf63's

  12. Hooked up the Dayton real quick tonight. Seems to be providing tons of power. Ive got to run audyssey again and have a listen after that. I'll grab a multimeter tomorrow and check the signal strength coming from the onkyo as well. It was shaking the house tonight so much that the wife was texting me from 2 floors up... "Really!!!!? U better stop"
