  1. Bose is popular, because many consumers are not interested in "high end" audio, and wish to buy things that are convenient, and perform decently. Bose does just that. They're alright speakers, if you like to have music in the background while you work, etc. (for the average consumer). Their high price is 'justified' with good looks, small size, and convenience, and that describes many products on the market today. "Better Sound Through Research" = "More Money for us Through Consumer Surveys, Publicity, and Media and/or Store Promotion"

and that's the way it will always be.

  2. I ordered the 4.1s, and they should be here soon, and I would like to know how long the speaker cables that come with them are. I am planning on making my own cables later, but for now I would like to use the factory included ones, and need to know the length so that if I need to arrange anything differently to accomodate the short/long length of the wires, I can. thanks a lot.

  3. I believe that since the sub on the 4.1's has dual drivers, and is more powerful, and the sats are more powerful as well, that they would offer better quality. but maybe I'm wrong. 2 subs might give you an enhanced bass effect, but the sats still receive less power

  4. I was thinking about waiting for the 5.1's because of their larger sub and center channel, but I don't watch dvd's on my computer, and 4 speaker surround is just fine. and wow..... is it ever fine. I listened to the 4.1's today at a local CompUSA, and the quality was unbelievable. those speakers sound better than many home speakers I've heard. the sub and sats blend so well together. I mean, they're not HT quality, but I'll settle for them for my comp.

  5. lol sorry if I seem retarded, but define "line level out" it has speaker connections in the back, and a headphone jack in the front.... could I use the headphone jack? well, it has an IN/OUT dat/md rca plug thing too, so could I just get a rca plug to mini-jack adapter?

  6. I'm thinking about buying the 4.1's, and I was wondering if there was a way to connect them to my sony receiver that I use now. I have it connected to my sound card and I use some rather bulky pioneer speakers with 16" woofers (too big to keep moving from place to place, cause I'm a college student) my receiver is kinda old, it's prologic, not digital, and puts out 120W per channel. is connecting the 4.1's just a matter of getting the right cables? or will the amp conflict with the one in my receiver? please help if possible.
