Since my amp died ( I helped it along the way) and the surrounds deteriorated, my plan is to connect the sats to a 6.1 receiver and run them. My concern is the receiver is rated to 8 ohms. If the sats are 4 ohms there would be no way to connect them to the receiver? On another subject I want to build my own sub and was wondering if I can hook up the sub to the receiver. I realize I would have to add a crossover to it but is it doable? The driver is a 10" and is 8 ohms. Thanks in advance. Btw, why did Klipsch stop making the 4.1/5.1 sets?

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm glad I don't have to toss the sats. I will use an optical cable to do the reciever/pc connection. For the speakers i'll need to get rca to mini audio plus, yes? Where online do you recommend I get these from? Thanks again for your help.

Had a humming and a burned smell. The speakers no longer power up. I opened the back and there was a burning smell..I don't want to fix it but i'd be a shame to throw the sattelites away if theyre good..Can I use a regular 6 channel reciever I have for HT to power these instead? 4 for the sats and 1 for the subs....kinda low on cash at the moment..
