  1. Hello everyone. I have been having problems getting my Klipsch RW-10D sub to sound the way I want it. My setup: Klipsch RF 52s for the front, RCA crappy center speaker, and 2 RCA rears (for now). The sub is positioned in the middle of the room, behind the TV which is on a stand, in between the 2 RF52s. I have the Yamaha RXV667 reciver, and the LPF is set to 90Hz. The RW-10D is set on 90Hz as well, and the setting is on PUNCH. I have the phase set on 0. The volume on the sub is 0Db. The room is 18x16Ft. I have a PS3 hooked up via HDMI to the Yamaha Receiver. The RF 52s are Bi-Amped as well. The woofer is hooked up via monster cable from "sub-woofer out" slot on receiver. My problem: I listen to a lot of old classic rock (Zeppelin, Floyd, The Doors) and I find that the sub is really boomy and loud for some songs and then not loud enough for other songs. I have been copying CDs on to my PS3 at 320bits to try and make sure I'm getting the best sound. The sub sounds great on Blu-Rays and movies, and most NEWER music. But I cant get the bass sound I want on the older tunes.
  2. Ya im thinkin of getting a new amp very soon. I think ive figured outa few of the settings with the woofer for now tho.
  3. Thank you for your response, I think the amp is on its way out personally, because it doesnt have some of the things your talking about, But I will try to mess around with it and see. Any ideas what would be a nice amp to buy for under 700? Would a new amp make the sound any clearer?
  4. Hello Everyone. I Just purchased the RP-10d Subwoofer from klipsch. I also bought the Klipsch RF-52 Tower speakers. I am running these all from the Yamaha HRT sort of crappy reciver. I just cant seem to get the sub to sound how I want it. I have the speakers setup in the normal surround config. (Towers at front on each side of tv, center above TV, 2 surrounds behind couch) I am just wondering how to get the settings right on the the sub. What is the general starting point for setup? Right now for music I have the power from the reciver all the way down going to the sub, and have the sub +8dB, on punch, and the low filter on about 85Hz. I am just wondering if I buy a new reciver will it really sound that much clearer? Because right now it sounds a bit boomy, and distorted. Oh ya, I am feeding the sound to the amp from my Playstation 3, via digital audio cable. Just tryin to find a good starting point so I can get the proper sound out of this sub. Thanks
