  1. thanks BBB for the link. I will defenitly consider doing something like that in the future. I dont listen to DVD audio now but im sure i will eventually.

So you got 4 Rf-7's? that is sweet. How much of a difference is it to have the big speakers for rears? I bet it makes for really good surround sound. what kind of receiver do you have? Yamaha?

  2. T-man: I sold the 2.2's because I wanted big rear speakers. The 4.2's will be a better match for tone quality than the 2.2's were.

As far as the amp's I can tell you that the samson is much more musical (tighter). The Samson can control the woofer with ease. Thus less distortion. The pioneer amp on the other hand was just the opposite. It had the power to shake the house but alot of that was distortion. not musical at all.

To be honest I'm still not where I want to be with bass yet. I'm really thinking about upgrading to the new driver from SVS for $129. With the trade in option, it really sounds like a good deal.

  3. hehe you always have something funny to say Ears.cwm2.gif

t-man Im glad you finally got your SVS. I guess that means you found a buyer for your KSW.

Can you paste the ebay page where you bought the shakers? I would like to see them.

btw I just picked these up today for $200....what do you think? http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1333458734 perfect match for my 5.2's!

  4. Well I'm finally finished my HT upgrading. It's been a long and adventurase experience. I just purchased these kg 4.2's for my rear setup http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1333458734 These speakers I think will be perfect matching surrounds for my oiled oak Kg 5.2's.

I have a total of just over $5000 into my entire HT. I can't believe I spent that much!! But to me its worth it..

Thank you for those who helped me....heres my gear

  5. That was quite possibly the most dignified response to a somewhat snotty comment that I have ever seen

Hold up a minute here. In now way was I trying to be snotty. Why would you interprit my statement in that way, I dont understand. Think before you make an accusation like that (GGRRRRRR!!)cwm21.gif

Ed, I have the highest respect for you, If my comments seemed a bit out of line I apoligize.

Love the stack job on the ultras by the way. Seem's much better than side by side.

  6. Ed, You are a very interesting person. If I had as much to say about my life as you do at your age I would write a biography. Really! I'm not being sarcastic. The knowledge that you have about life would really be helpful to other people.

but your right...you can be rich in many different ways. It dosent have to be measured in dollar signs but in friends, family, education, love & amoungst many other things I can't think of at the moment. Although having lots of money sure does make all the good things that much better.

But seriously Ed, you should think about a biography. I for one would love to read it.

    Regard's Monty

  7. As I'm gazing at horned's pic and druling over it. The only thing I can think of is how nice it must be to be rich.

  8. I just bought the Mitsu 47". Although their were several prospectives that in my opinion were very good tv's. If its going to be a projection tv here are the brands you should stick with:

Mitusbushi, Hitachi, Toshiba and Pioneer.(not in that order)

Ive found these four to have the best picture quality and very competitive prices. Sony makes good tube tvs but I would stray from their projection's. RCA GE SAMSUNG PANASONIC and SHARP were not up to par with the others as far as quality but can offer a better price tag. (panasonic is the best out of the low end brand's).

    Regards Monty

  9. LATEST UPDATE!!

Guy's I ended up getting the Mitsu 47" after all. It's deminsion's were just much better for my needs. Like the C-7 being able to sit on top of it for one.

I also upgraded my dvd player to this http://www.goodguys.com/adtemplate.asp?invky=326651

It really made a difference!! This is one awesome DVD player. I can change the screen however I want to and the audio and video quality playback is fantastic!

both the widescreen and the DVD player I got out the door for $2500!! I nogotiated with the manager to bring the price down about $150.... Goodguys has earned my respect back

By the way the TV is totally awesome!!!! will send updated pics on my previous post in odds and modds

    regards Monty

  10. Jack be Knimble:

I just made my mind up yesterday, and it just happens to be the Pioneer 47" widescreen. It sell's at best buys for $1750!! Its awesome and it has all the deminsions im looking for. The KLF c-7 can fit on top of it and its just wide enough to fit on my fireplace concrete slab..... As soon as I find a buyer for my Sony Wega (only had it in the paper one day and have had 5 calls already) I'ts coming home with me.

by the way thanks for the advise Justin on the Mitsu. It sounds good but the thing is that its $400 more than the Pioneer 4"'s smaller and you have to buy the stand seperatly. Thats another $300. Yes its a better tv but its all about the money.

  11. what class and elagance! very nice ED!

That tv is a widescreen isnt it? Did they even have those years ago?..I didnt think so.

I like the Mistu very much but I went to best buys and for around $1700 I can get a 46" toshiba or panasonic. Im looking at these tv's and I just want one sooo bad. I cant stand the small Wega anymore.

HD WIDESCREEN HERE I COME BABY!!!!!

Ed what happened to to the KLF 10 for front effects? why did you go smaller?

    Regards Monty R

  12. Dr Pyro,

The pic that I have on my first post is a pic of a mitsu HD ready tv. The salesman told me that the convertor would be an extra $800. (lol thats a joke, for $800 I can almost buy a tv).

I really want a wide screen because of the dvd formats are all in widescreen. I loose too much picture with my Wega.

$2500 is really a lot of dough to fork over thoughcwm36.gif

    regards Monty
