Check to see if the card comes with a manufacturer's warranty! My first GTXP (retail) was bad, and I easily replaced it through Guillimot. There's enough horror stories on Hercules's support forum to make anyone demand a warranty for a GTXP

Man, it's going to be nice to get out of this dorm room so I can attempt to properly place my speakers.

I too have my stub about 1' from my feet, but I don't think the bass sounds too bad. Would you guys describe the bass as being "blurry" if it just retardedly loud, with all the notes sounding more or less the same? Mine isn't that way, but I'm just looking for a definition.

I have concrete floors (dorm room), so this idea didn't work at all. In fact, it hampered the bass. Concrete doesn't reverb that well compared with a frame house, I guess.

It's funny you mention pumping the treble... I got my 4.1's today, and I think that's the part I enjoy the most, higher-quality and more defined high freq's, rather than just stupidly loud bass.
