  1. No, but I wish I did. Is there any other way to check the receiver?
  2. Hi I am having trouble with my quintets distorting. I am getting a crackling sound with explosions, lightning, gun shots, etc. I can hear the distortion at all volumes but the louder it is, the more distorted it sounds. I have pushed on all the speakers and hear no crunch. I took the front off all the speakers and all the wires seemed to be ok. I have tightened all the screws to make shore nothing is loose. I have been using a gunshot in a video game( Unreal Tournament 3) to test the speakers. In the sound fx menu I can replay the same gunshot over and over. Every gunshot sounds horrible. When I switch to my tv speakers, through the receiver, it sounds fine. I can turn my tv speakers up to 80 which is really loud, without the sound distorting. My receiver is a yamaha rxv465. All my speakers are set to small. The cross over is at 120hz. I set the EQ to off. I have rotated all the speakers to every channell and they all distort on all channells. This is my second set of quintets, both sets have the same problem. I brought my speakers and receiver online at the same time. When I first got them I noticed something was wrong right away, so I sent the speakers back, thinking they were bad. Now I dont know if its the speakers or the receiver causing the problem. Right now I dont know what the problem is and need help. thanks
