  1. Sorry if I'm later for the party.

but I was one of the firsts that ordered the Promedia 5.1s from Klipsch the minute it was available (and yes, I got the buggy sub too.)

so why is it that you can pay 499.99 for a 5.1+DD5.1 and I have to pay 399.99 + 169.99 now that I'm buying them separately?

keep in mind I also purchased the audio tornado too. (which by the way. did NOT perform up to my expectations.)

so. If I want the DD5.1 one (hopefully it'll work better than the audio tornado) I'd have to pay 169.99?

*sigh* the pain of an early adopter

  2. Hated it. bought a digitheatre system for 614 bux (tax, shipping, timport taxes?)

and sucked compared to even my 4.1s

of course. I have a rather large room and the DTS's 220W RMS just seems too whimpy.

The 5.1 along with DTS decoding is good. However, I have yet to experience one DVD with DTS decoding on these speakers. BUT here's what i do know. with the best digital opitcal connection for playing back CD audio, I heard very stinging highs at high volumes compared to just the 4.1 pros with analog decoding. (hmm.. no wondering Klipsch patents/tradmarks? their micro-tatrix horn technology)

and reflecting to the reviews i've read from www.gamersdepot.com and anandtech.com. They have made a lot of false claims on how good the satilletes are!

Since they're from the "siccoro" line(excuse my lack of spelling efficiency) which are supposed to be REALLY GOOD. BUT these speakers are smaller than your average electronic pencil sharpener! (go figure) They really don't pack the punch that the Promedia satillites do. Fainlly. The sub. it's a 'whooping" 12 inch. subwoofer..yea.. like the longer the woofer the bigger the sound. nope! not here. Played the THX theme thing.. and heard distortion of the woofer. I wonder why Klipsch Pros are "THX certified" yea? Smile.gif

I'm very serious about my comments. I know i sound totally leaning for Promedias, but I really wanna let everyone know that unless you have nothing but DTS encodes sources to play and a fairly small room albeit the whimpy 220W RMS, wait for the Pro5.1s or the 4.1s sound just as good as those Digitheatre DTS speakers.

hmm.. how else can i offer more proof? how about live auditions at my house? I live in So. Cali.

  3. don't get Videologic Digitheatre DTS..

it's.. not a good buy.. honestly..

the only reason why it's so expensive is because it's not a mass produced model and since the manufacturer is in England, we're paying extra import duties for a very poorly made piece of product.

In my opinion, the DTS decoding is not very good. I can hear clear pops and crackles @ high volumes watching

Jurrassic Park DTS edition (I have to admit it was at max volume)

But I have NEVER heard a crackle or pop on my 4.1 pros... EVER.

and 220W RMS maybe enough for 90% of all dorm rooms.. but not a living room =)

  4. oh yea..

how about somebody do a count down meter somewhere for the release of the pros 5.1?

    and/or

why don't we open up a new forum just for the 5.1s?

(cuz we've technically posted messages out of place for the past 2 months or so)

    hahaha

  5. even with out DTS decode.. it'll kick Videologic DigiTheatre DTS butt!!

I'm living proof. cuz i spent 650 bux on that import POS!

    cwm22.gif

didn't even sound as good as my pros 4.1s

use those DTSs once. popped it back in the box.. and now it's either going to ebay or the trash.

    =)

  6. wow! 15th! hehehe. that's 4 days before I get Final Fantasy X and go bonkers with the game with the sound coming from no other than these 5.1s.

There would be no more delays right right? Smile.gif

and... this might get edited out but.. jess wana let you guys know you can preorder from Outpost.com... esp. if you live in CA cuz then you could avoid the taxes Smile.gif

  7. hey there.

well.. i just got my "Audio Tornado" in front of my door today.

Yes its exactly (can i say that w/o getting in trouble?) like the midiland and the videologic ones. cept the boxes outer labels and 'name tag' as "audio tornado 5.1"

It doesn't offer DTS.. and.. the functions are bascially the same as the midiland and videologic counterparts.

I'm not too sure about the tech specs (since there weren't any) and what kind of DSP chip is in there. videologic claims a Zoran DSP.. while midiland and klipsch doesn't say anythign about it Smile.gif

I hooked up my 4.1s to there.. sounds nice. works with my PS2 fairly well w/o me having to hook up the optical out to my comp and then back out to my klipsch. cuz that would require i bring my comp out to the living area.

anyhow.. just giving you what i know.

i don't wanna say if it's good product or not.. since it's still 'new' to klipsch users.. and.. don't wanna ruin their sales Smile.gif

  8. hmm.. i'd guess ... that Klipsch would have these in stock and ready to ship by July 1st.. afterall, they've made many of us wait for that extra 2 weeks from "mid June" hehehe..

I've ordered several times, including Promedias and various other accessories from their online website. It usually takes a 2-4 days turnaround for them to process and ship out your order. So you total "wait period" is about 6-12 days (depending how much you're willing to spend for shipping) for the 5.1s. Of course, that is.. if my speculations are right. =)

Here's some other tibit i'd like to add tho. Since this is gonna be a super system for your comp/HT setup, if you want this item for sure and must have it first, order it as soon as you see it.. cuz it'll be out of stock in a hurry.. prolly... like.. within 24 hours of putting up the link for ordering.. the initial shipment will be gone. hahaha

shouldn't someone be doing some countdown applet for the countdown until july 1st or something? hehehehe

    until then.

  9. wah? DTS?

well.. DTS doesn't really do much in my opinion.. I haven't come across much content that are in DTS. Even for DVD movies there aren't that many encoded in DTS...

hmm.. but.. i think this might be a worthwhile investment for those of us that would wanna use this upcoming klipsch system along with their Playstations and Xboxs and Gamecubes Smile.gif

(in my case. for Finaly Fantasy X - import)

thanks for the info tho!! Smile.gif

  10. errr.. is anyone able to tell me what the AUDIO TORNADO 5.1 is and what it does?

Well, the product descriptions says that this is a complimenting device with the Promedia 5.1s ... Problems is... they're not out yet!? Is this the extra decoder that people are supposed to buy for analog sources and what not? But then again.. this doesn't look like the small decoder-like box in the Promedia 5.1 snap shoots.

Any clue or insight into this would be greatly appreciated...

  11. I know I'm kinda asking for too much. But for the current owners of the promedia 4.1 system that would most definitely get the upcoming 5.1 system..... Does anyone know if there's gonna be a consideration of allowing current owners of the 4.1 system to have a trade up program for the 5.1s?

cuz... if i get the 5.1s... i wouldn't know what to do with my old 4.1s...

    any suggestions.. comments? ^^
