  1. Hi All,

Just moved from CA to MD and setting up my Klipsch speakers and gear.

    I have a set of the old reference speakers (2 RF-3 (R/L) 1 RC-3 ©, 2 RS-3 (Surround R/L) and a KSW-15 Sub)

I was wondering if I should use some speaker mounts for ease of adjustment for the rear RS-3 and for more room for the speaker wire, as opposed to flush mounting on the wall.

Looking for advice from the experts :)

  2. I would agree with Discorules, though I totally disagree with his name.. LOL

All the slick advertising and hype the cable folks spout is just that... slick hype. There is small differences between cable. Note the operative word here, small.

Speaker placement will overshadow any subtle differences in cable.

As for biwiring, try it out. Just make sure to get the length in the biwire cable that you create, as close to exactly equal on both runs as possible.

Have fun and enjoy your RF-3's I owned them now for over 1.5 years and I love them to death. Every night I thank my lucky stars for the sales rep that introduced me to Klipsch.cwm35.gif

  3. Grub,

The Pro Media system is for your PC. Not a true HT setup. If you are looking for a satellite HT setup due to price / size constraints. Look into the quintet setup with the subwoofer. This provides a great HT experience, but the overall music listening experience will be a little less then desirable. If you will be listening to music too, I would recommend looking into the Synergy system if price is your main hurdle.cwm35.gif

  4. Those huge lot ubid auctions are a bit fishy, especially if they dont get enough bidders to get a bit over the 9.00 start bid. My guess is they would leave the bid alone if the average sell price for one quint was $30.00. But none the less.. shill bidding is quite illegal. But hard to prove, especially since the auction site owns the product.

Every now and then ubid has smaller lot auctions that seem to be a bit more on the level. I was able to pick up 4 white quintets there for just $160.00 + $22.00 ship/hand charge.

BTW the Quints work nicely in the upstaires loft Backup HT room. (In other words. My old equiptment room - I couldn't bear to get rid of the stuff.)

  5. HornEd,

Here is a possible solution. I don't know if they will allow a demo of the system. That might be a Good Guy's policy, but the Good Guy store in Modesto, yes a heck of a ride from Daily city. (1.5 hrs or so) is pretty damm good. Heck! They even matched a price I got from an authorized Klipsch dealer in NY that was willing to ship to me since I bought other product from them before I moved to California. They had a whole room set up with the Klipsch reference system just to sit down and listen in. A class store.

Just wanted to let you know.

  6. I know... I know... I know... The quintets are sold as a set of 5. But I was a bad boy and got 4 white one for a really good price on ubid. Bad BigRob... Bad!

So... My question is this. In light of the facts that a quintet center shows up only once in a blue moon on ebay or the like... What might be a good match if I wish to go a different route.

Thanks for the help folks. This setup will be for my loft 2nd HT-lite setup... cwm1.gif
