  1. Now that I have aquired a new center I will be looking out for an amp for a Home Theater Sub. I really enjoy my M&K v-75. But it is a little on the weak side. Room is a very open 20 x 20 area. I have not fully decided on a sub yet, but will eventually be interested in using a JL 13w7. I have not spent much time in the home audio world and am looking for recomendations on a good brand and or model of amplifier for a home sub or a pair of subs.
  2. Went with a new RC-62. Unfortuanately I can not report on to how it sounds. It is still under the tree. I will have to be patient just like the kids.
  3. Finding an RC-3 or RC-3 II is the problem. I have been able to locate an RC-35, So essentially it is simply which will match my setup better? If the match is essentially the same it comes down to is the RC-62 worth the extra money? If that is a toss up then the RC-62 gets the edge, just in case I ever do upgrade. Matching the RC-62 to a future system should prove to be easier. So I guess I will start with, in peoples opinion which is the better match to my RF-3 II ?????? Ignore all other factors. On a side note has anyone ever simply changed the tweeter to help with the tone? It seams that a replacement tweeter from Klipsh is relatively cheap. Could a person purchase an K-124 (used in the RF-3) and put it in an RC-35 to help the three match? or is most of the matching timbre issues from the drivers? Is this idea Crazy? Or to try the other purchase two K-137's and put them in my RF-3's. I am sure this is a big No No. But I am trying to think outside the box. I would obviously have to do some research and see how much these two tweeters differed.
  4. Newbie here. I know this has been asked many times (because I have read most of those threads.) Pioneer Elite 94-TXH Mains: RF-3 II Rears: RS-42 Sub: M & K V-75 Current Center: Infinity CCC-3 Old Pioneer Elite PRO-720. Yes an old prjection TV. But still a great picture at 1080i I am in the market for a CC from Klipsh. Obviously the RF-3's are old but I have been putting this thing together for a while. I have been looking at my optioins and from what I have ready an RC-3 is the obviouse choice except that there are many better centers out there that will work better. I have narrowed my search down to a used RC-35 for $175 or a new RC-62 (not RC-62 II) for just under $400. Unless someone can convice me that a RC-62 II is worth the difference, especially given my mains. Do I plan on upgradeing my Main's. No I don't I am happy with them. But It could happen They seem to do well in my 20 x 20 living room. My weak link is obviously my Center Channe, the dialog at low volume is terrible. I am really leaning to the RC-35. (price) I know it is not the same tweeter. It is obvioulsy not the same woofer. But since my mains are 8" drivers I don't feel that I have alot of other options. Everything I have read says the RC-62 is an awesome CC. Any thoughts on whether the timbre matching would be better with the RC-35 than with the newer RC-62 Especially at double the price? I have considered splitting up a set of RF-3's from Craigslist (140) and using one of them for the center. I would rather use a true center chanel as I would have to lay an RF-3 on its side. I have tried to read as much as I can about both the 35 and the 62. Most people who seam to have an ear for it describe the upgrade to the 62 as worth the money. With the 35 being described as muddy in comparison. The 62 is slightly larger (deeper) Not a factor. I want the best match for my mains without wishing I would have done something different. I am relying on research As I am unable to demo either in my home environment. Saving 225 is a long ways to a larger sub. All comments are appreciated and welcomed.
