  1. I purchased "Carol Brand Command Studio Grade 12g Speaker Wire". They are very good. See other people's review at http://www.audioreview.com/reviews/Cable/product_3686.shtml
  2. I got my subwoofer recently. Last week when I was listening to a CD and found it making noise at a particular song. I then conducted a low frequency test. At the frequency higher then about 88hz, the noise is not there. But when the frequency is low, the receiver's volumn is about -25 and up, and the volum on the sub is set at 7 or above, the noise appears. I could pin point that the noise is coming from the board at the back of the subwoofer where all the speaker connection pins and adjustment knobs are. This is a small board cut from the big board of the sub's back. Did any of you had this problem before? How did you get it fixed? Is it easy to take the small board off and see what is in there? Will this void my warranty? Thanks in advance for your help.
  3. Monster Cable makes very good subwoofer cables, based on the reviews at www.audioreview.com. But they have so many subwoofer cables, such as "M351 Subwoofer Home Theatre Interconnect", "MonsterBass 400 Subwoofer", "Z Bass 100 Subwoofer", etc. Based on your experience, what are their pros and cons? Thanks in advance.
  4. I was told that I have to use speaker cables of the SAME LENGTH for all the 5 speakers. I was wondering can we really hear the difference if the wires are less then 100 ft long? Two 50 ft Carol Brand Command Studio Grade 12g speaker cables are wired to my rears. For front and center I am thinking of using Monster Z1 or Z2 Biwire. To cut the cost, I wonder if I can use 15ft for one front, 5 for the other, and 10 for the center. Will this cause any synchronization problem between the speakers? Thanks for any help. Receiver: Yamaha RX-V1000 Front: Klipsch RF-3 Center: Klipsch RC-3 Rear: Klipsch RS-3 Sub: Klipsch KSW-15
  5. I found an interesting thread (at http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/003524.html) talking about setting all the speakers to SMALL and letting the sub get all the low frequency signals. I belive this is an excellent idea and like to have my system setup this way. But I do not know if I can do this with my system without suffering some frequency loss. My receiver is Yamaha RX-V1000, speakers are RF-3, RC-3, RS-3, and the sub is KSW-15. The Yamaha has a crossover at 90Hz. So if I set the speakers to small, all the frequency < 90Hz should go to the sub. The sub specification says it has the FREQUENCY RESPONSE between 24Hz-90Hz±3dB. So both the receiver and the sub cut the frequency right at 90Hz. Should this be a concern? Am I going to get a hole around 90Hz? BTW, what does "Continuously variable from 40-120Hz, 24dB/octave slope above 120Hz" mean in the spec for "LOW PASS CROSSOVER" of the sub? Thanks for any help.
