  1. recieved my HSU sub and it sounds amazing with my Hresy 2, i want to thank everyone on the forum who has given me advice regarding the Crites crossovers, Emotiva Amp and the HSU sub, i knew nothing before i came on here but thanks to you guys i have a really nice system to listen to my music on! Thank You!
  2. Although what you have said is correct and is a great starting point, ultimately you want to get the lows out of the Heresy. Just because the Heresy rolls off the low end and the sub can be set to pick up where the Heresy leaves off, the Heresy is still "trying" to reproduce the signal. Removing the low end from the Heresy will reduce the IM and it will sound even better combined with the sub. I do this with a pair of Heresy IIIs and 2 passive subs on their own amp. Currently I am letting my AVR do the split, but I am building a dedicated analog crossover. this is interesting, what do u set the crossover to, in order to get all the lows out of the Heresy?
  3. thanks for that, yeah i love the heresy 2, cant wait to hear them with the subs.......hopefully it will be a few years before i get the urge to upgrade to the corns!
  4. thats great, i really appreciate all the advice! what do u guys suggest regards setting the HSU STF1 crossover in order to get the best from the Heresy 2? once again, thanks for the tips....
  5. Could someone explain to me how connecting the sub via hi-level inputs works? Does the amp in the sub drive both the sub and the speakers or does the system amp drive the speakers and the sub amp just drive the bass? Thanks alot!
  6. hey cecaa850 i am gonna buy a hsu stf1 (thanks for recommenation guys!), excuse my audio ignorance but when i hook it up (as per your directions above), does that mean the amplifier in the sub is powering both the sub and the speakers, are the speakers no longer powered by my emotiva sub or is the emotiva amp powering the speakers and the sub amp powering the sub (apologies if this seems like a stupid question) if you could shed some light on this i would be greatful Thanks
  7. Thanks for that. Thinking of the emotiva sub ultra 12 in comparison to the b&w sub, has anyone here got experience of both/either? Do u reckon the emotiva sub will work better with my heresy? Cheers
  8. Hi guys Im relatively new here, and you will have to excuse my ignorance in the audio world (novice is an overstatement!), I recently aquired a pair of Heresy 2 (with new crites crossovers) that are fantastic, i am using them for my home DJ set up. I use a vintage Bozak DJ mixer and it is connected to a Emotiva UPA 2 channel amp. My question is how do i incorporate a sub bass into this set up (i was looking at maybe buying an emotiva sub-i think they are active subs)-how do this work in conjunction with the upa2 and the bozak mixer, and what is the best way to wire the configuration? Apologies for the basic/simple questions, i would greatly appreciate any help or information Thanking you in advance Paul
  9. thanks for all the input guys i decided to buy a pair of Heresy2 on ebay, as the seller was in the uk (meaning shipping costs a minimum), what i was wondering was, are they easily servicable, if i ever have a problem with them in the future are they easily refurbished/fixed? obviously these speakers are20 plus years old, should i get a decent enough life out of them if they are properly maintained? once again, thanks for all the reply's paul
  10. thanks for the reply guys when buying a pair of heresy would u buy new or buy on ebay any tips info appreciated!

I am gonna buy a pair of Heresy 3 soon for my home DJ setup, i was wondering if you guys could advise me on a good reasonably priced amp (modern or vintage)that compliments the Heresy 3 that is clean sounding and has a bit of power, i dont have big money to spend (around 500) I would greatly appreciate your expertise!
