  1. This is devastating... I signed up to ask for help here. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. My ProMedia 2.1 speakers aren't even a year old, and up until 12/31/2010 had worked perfectly. Never pushed beyond half volume, never tortured with "sub tests". Then, on New Year's Eve... they were ripped from the wall and used in an assault/battery crime against me. I'm okay now, but my speakers are not. The satellites seem fine. Just had the cloth grilles popped off. Blood wiped right off. The green LED on the control pod underneath the right speaker still lights up. The subwoofer seems fine as well. I think the DIN plug is the problem, though. It was bent in the socket, and now the black plastic hangs loose around the plug, and it doesn't seem like it fits inside anymore. I straightened it out without much difficulty, replugged the speakers and turned them on. Got that light pop when power surges through the system. Tried to play sounds from my laptop and got nothing. No hiss, no low volume, no 1 channel sound. No sound at all. I'm thinking the DIN is the problem, but I wouldn't know what to do to check it, or if there's also a problem with the subwoofer or satellites. Any help?
