Planning to buy a sub and looking for advice. I have RF52 II fronts and S1 surrounds. I have ordered a RC52 center and yet to get it. I am driving these with a Marantz NR1601 receiver. The system is setup in my living room which is about 14ftx18ft that is acoustically a bit challenged (opens into the dining and has huge windows). With this setup I am missing bass while watching movies, so plan to add a sub and considering a Klipsch XW-300d subwoofer. The reasons for considering this are: small size & weight, low price and frequency range (than can go down to 22Hz). While the recommended sub for RF52s is sw110, I do not want to spend that kind of money ($450) for it; plus I find it a tad too heavy. Let me know if you think the XW-300d would sound good with the RF52 Reference speakers. I do not see much posts on xw-300d on this forum or elsewhere; I could hardly find any professional reviews on it - not sure if that points to any problems with this sub. Please post any feedback you have got on xw-300d and its compatability with RF52 speakers. Cheers

Hi, I am thinking of buying this sub too and my system is similar to yours - RF52 fronts, RC52 center and S1 surrounds, driven by a Mrantz NR1601 receiver. My main reasons for considering this sub are Small size & weight, Price and frequency range (going all the way down to 22 Hz). I am a little worried about the fact that you had to return the sub once and get a new one. I plan to buy this and ship it to India - if the sub I get turns out to be bad, then I don't think I will have an opportunty to exchange. Do you have an idea if anybody esle had the same problem as yours? I want to get the sub mainly because, I am missing bass while watching movies (which incidentally is my main use). Can you let me know if this sub add enough bass for the movies? Anybody esle that has an opinion on this sub - please post them here. Cheers
