  1. Hello, I came across the SW-115 while starting to look for a replacement sub for my HT. The specs look good and being a 15", I know it would have to deliver something. I also have looked at a couple of comparable Velodyne's, the DLS 5000R 15" sub and EQ-Max 15". They all seem to have comparable specs and while the DLS 5000 seems to be the older of the bunch and actually on sale at Velodyne it looks attractive anyway. But I don't want to short change myself and we really know nothing about the performance of the SW-115 yet. Can anyone comment on these two Velodyne's? Does the adjustable EQ, wireless all add up to be something really worthy to have vs. the more generic Klipsch? Also considering a 12" sub possibly, But I know I have to get into something with a bit of power to equal the feel you get out of the larger subs. Any help is appreciated Thanks C
  2. Thanks...I would have to beleive if I go with an in wall Reference setup, the sound has to be at least very good. Well at least I hope and wonder how some of these speakers perform in the wall vs in there own enclosure. But then again it's not like I am planning to have 10" woofers in my wall and hoping they sound as good as a floorstander. Will let the sub handle this. I think I have the perfect placement laid out for the front's and the ceiling rears. Everything will be at ear level for the most part when sitting and the seperation distance should be good as well. Ceiling speakers will be over the listening area and just behind the head. Glad to see they make these adjustable so I can aim them towards the seating area as I have cathederal ceilings to deal with. Also curious if I go with this whole setup, and if anyone knowledgeable really knows....Should I put some fiberglass insulation behind each wall speaker when mounting them to enhance the bass performance or might this throw off the design of the speaker therefore making it perform a whole lot worse? Wouldn't bother with the ceiling speakers as it's open attic anyway. Thanks CK
  3. That is no different than someone comparing what they hear at in their home and trying to suggest what it would sound like in your home. True....I worded that wrong to some extent. I meant the overall performance won't be like their demo theater rooms if you don't have one. But you have to start listening somewhere []
  4. I hope that is not the case, but I am sure most people are not using in wall or let alone wanting to build a whole theatre based on in wall speakers like I am trying to do except for the sub. If anyone know's how they perform as far as sound quality wise, etc that would be a plus to hear about. I can audition more at some local shops, but until you get them home and installed and into your own house it's never always the same thing either. Have not really heard a Klipsch yet that I owned and was dissapointed with. So I can only hope these sound on par with many of there traditional lines. CK
  5. Hello, My other post did not get that much attention , but I can use some help in my decision with a new surround system. This is what I have in mind, nothing exotic, but sticking with a clean look and hope it will still perform very nicely. I currently have 2 R-5502-W's as want to use these as my front mains, mounted side by side my tv. Looking to get another R-5502-W and use it below my tv as the center. Sticking with 5.1 for now I want to use two CDT-5650-C's in the ceiling for the rears. I am running 140 watts a channel from my receiver. I have a 150 watt 12" sub which I will upgrade shortly. Opinion's on how this will work for my surround system??? How about 2 channel music along with the sub? I want or hope this can acheive a nice sound level, but as long as it's clean and detailed as I had with other Klipsch products I would be happy. My last system was the same receiver in a 8.1 configuration using two Synergy SF-1 floor standers, SS.5 and RC-4 upfront, RS3's L and R Rear and one KSB 1.1 in the rear center along with a 12" sub and did it rock the house with either movies and music. I realize I probably did not have matched speakers at the time, but that was a first attempt a while back. This is all I have to compare to the new system I am thinking of putting together. This will be in a living room that also opens into a dining room with higher ceilings.....Main room is about 12x15 with 12 foot ceilings. Help is most appreciated on this one. Thanks CK
  6. Hello, Was looking for a list of speakers that would match a pair of R-5502-W's that would be installed as my mains. Any suggestions? Need a front Center, L&R Rear and Rear Center. Looking to keep everything in wall. With the exception of the Front Center as due to my tv placement I will most likely not be able to install this speaker dead in the middle on the near the bottom of my tv, but rather may have to use two smaller speakers located beneath the tv just left and right of the very center due to a stud and conduit. Thanks for the help CK
  7. Hello, New house, new theatre setup! I had floor standing mains(SF-1's), RC-52 for the center and SS.5's as front effects speakers. Hung on the wall RS3-II's in the rear and a single KSB-1.1 for the rear center. Along with a sub. Powered by a Yamaha RX-Z1...... Great system I thought.....More than too powerful for the home it was in(Nothing like reserve power on tap). Looking to remove the floor standing speakers and the wall hangers and go all Architectural if possible. Looking at a Pair of R-5502-W's as my main's and possbily another for my center channel(wall mounting permitting). Not going to employ the front effects speakers and just keep it 7.1 If I cannot fit a 5502 in my wall due to studs in the way...Can anyone suggest a matched center that would be nearly half the size of this speaker? Also looking at options for the 3 rear speakers which I will mount in the ceiling and fire down just right behind my sitting area. Big question, how should these R-5501-W's perform as my main's??? I will be using the RX-Z1 still and listening to 2 channel audio as well at times. I see a subwoofer upgrade coming as well to pick up the bottom end. Not looking to have as quite a powerful system as I did before due to speaker sizes, but one that sounds really good and still has some punch would be nice. Thanks for any suggestions and opinions.... CK
