I have a HT in my basement. It occupies half of a 30X15 room, perpendicularly. This means that my side speaker is kind of right in the middle of a 30X15 room. I have chorus !! main, academy center, heresy 2 back, and heresy 2 sides. There is a support post in the middle of the basement and I have my side heresy in front of the post. Unfortunately, this ends up being right in the middle of the side, approx 3 feet in front of my seats. In short, the heresy is 3 feet in front of my seats, pointing in parallel with the seats. I have had this set up for about 4 years. Last week my kids got a kinect system, and I was playing in the middle of the room, directly in front of the heresy. The sound was great, and I think i have been missing quite a bit of sound in my HT by not having the speakers pointed at the seats. I am THINKING about replacing the heresys on the sides with perhaps a RS 62 or a KS-525. Comments?
