  1. Changing my whole system (chorusII, academy, heresy 11 (x4)) to RF-7II, RC-64 ii, Rs-62ii, RB-81. Feelin a bit melancholy. Like getting rid of an old good friend. I am certain that I have spent at least 5-6 sold months of my life with these boys. I need to take a picture of the ChorusII next to the RF-7II. Sure hope I am not making a mistake. I am the king of buyers remorse. I already swapped my sides and the sound is much better, so I am very hopeful......but scared.
  2. I pulled the trigger on RF 7IIs, RC 64II, and RB81IIs to match my RS 62IIs. I highly do not recommend messing with your system....you may end up replacing everything!! Kaz
  3. ABT does not have everything....Barretts no longer carries klipsch....where do I go?
  4. I think i am screwed. I just changed from Heresy II surrounds to rs-62II. The sound is amazing. I can, unfortunately, hear a big difference between it and my academy center. I am thinking of upgrading the center to a RC-64II...but will I then need to replace my mains...? What is a mint academy worth these days?
  5. How about this question...when set to "small", is the RF-7 worth the significant extra cash over the RF82?
  6. Thanks. The root of the question is....if you are planning on setting the speaker to small....or setting your crossover at 80hz....are you throwing away cash if you buy RF7 vs RF82II?........for the savings, I can get a new center channel. The cost difference is HUGE between these two.
  7. Here is my dilemma. My system was: chorus II, academy, and 4 heresy II surrounds and a couple of SVS ultra subs. Due to my location, the side speakers are in front of the seats. I never realized how directional the heresys were until xmas...when I was playing kinect in the middle of the room...and I was amazed how much sound I was missing. So.....I just bought some RS62 IIs. wow..... I know they don't match, but they do one hell of a lot better than heresys that are not pointed at you. So....here is the question. The rest of the system. Leave it alone? I probably can afford to replace the center (RC64II?) or the mains (RF-7 or RF-82II?) perhaps both If I do not go with RF-7 mains... any advise here?
  8. I am thinking about new main speakers. I have two SVS subs, so I plan to set the main speakers to small. What would be the largest main RF speaker that one should buy? Clearly purchasing an RF-7 and setting it to small is a waste of cash. Your thoughts? Kaz
  9. I have a HT in my basement. It occupies half of a 30X15 room, perpendicularly. This means that my side speaker is kind of right in the middle of a 30X15 room. I have chorus !! main, academy center, heresy 2 back, and heresy 2 sides. There is a support post in the middle of the basement and I have my side heresy in front of the post. Unfortunately, this ends up being right in the middle of the side, approx 3 feet in front of my seats. In short, the heresy is 3 feet in front of my seats, pointing in parallel with the seats. I have had this set up for about 4 years. Last week my kids got a kinect system, and I was playing in the middle of the room, directly in front of the heresy. The sound was great, and I think i have been missing quite a bit of sound in my HT by not having the speakers pointed at the seats. I am THINKING about replacing the heresys on the sides with perhaps a RS 62 or a KS-525. Comments?
