  2. I just made a pledge to myself that I will never play MP3 music through my RF-7IIs. Its like putting 87octane gas into a Porsche.

The last decade brought the birth of the MP3, the DVD audio, and the SACD. Clearly the worst format is the only one standing. The MP3 is the first audio format in my lifetime that is a step down. It is a shame that no one is embracing high fidelity audio. The only glimmer of hope is DTS master audio. RUSH is going to release moving pictures on DTS master audio...is this a sign of things to come? Anyone that has listened to Fleetwood Mac Rumors on DVD-A, Steely Dan Gaucho on DVD-A, Hotel California on DVD-A or Dark Side of the moon on SACD will completely understand this post.
  4. Just listened to Fleetwood Mac rumors on SACD through my RF7IIs. AMAZING
  5. yep. They are ATS panels 2x4. I bought a total of 13. Great improvement
  6. AMY Can I come? I went to Indy a few years ago, and had a blast. Thanks Ken Kaz
  7. i bought them from ATS acoustics. 4x2 feet 2inches thick. chocolate suede the sound is amazing. interesting---my audssey was never even close on the distances. After adding the panels...it was dead on. picutures are at the end of the lets see your HT page
  8. Moving the rack to the right side of the right speaker would put the speakers too close together for the room. The room is 17ft wide...if I moved the speaker next to the tv..they would be 7 feet apart. I moved the sub..so they are 10 feet apart. revised pix
  9. Here you go. All new speakers...RF7-II, Rc-64II, RB 81II, Rs 61II. 13 ATS acoustic panels. The sound is perfect. I also have a SVS PB12 ultra and a Ultra cylinder. Rotel amps, Integra processor, Hitachi 60 in. Carver 1.5 driving the sub (my first amp...)
  10. pictures will be in lets see your ht
  11. Just ordered 13 4x2 acoustic panels! Hope it helps!
  12. Just set up a newHT. Replaced full Heritage system (chorus IIs, academy, heresys) with the new RF-7II, RC-64, RD 62, RB 81. Sounds amazing. There clearly is dramatically more high frequency sound. Way more..even my 11 year old daughter picked it up immediately. But While listening to a Genesis SACD at high volume, I hear a ring that I have never heard. I am sure it is echo. I am in a 30x20 room. The HT occupies half of it, 15x20. The walls are hard, The floor is tile, i have a couple of area rugs. The ceiling is suspended. It is a basement. I am thinking of buying some panels. Looking at acoustimac and ATS acoustic. Any comments about the ring or the panels? Kaz
  13. ELECTRICAL SERVICE. You clearly need to upgrade to 200A service with 2/0 incoming feed. Certainly, you need to run a dedicated line (8ga, min) to your $500 outlet. Crazy talk. That said, I would bet that there is a difference in sound if you did the exact opposite of everything above....200ft of 14ga wire with 60A service with a crap outlet and a 18GA power supply cord....and you had a couple of 1000W subwoofer amps.
  14. I know this is not the best test...but....I have one RF7-II and one chorus Ii going. I eq'd the system (the rf-7ii was -4db with respect to the Chorus II, so I just lost 1/2 my amp...) But Its like there is another octave of highs on the RF7-II...even my 11 year old daughter is like..."dad...these speakers are a lot higher than the regular ones" they look a lot better too. On another note---my academy just walked out the door....like loosing an old pal. I bet i lost 15,000,000 brain cells listening to that speaker. I am going to pick up the rest of the speakers. Pictures later kaz
  15. Yea, the rs-62 is an amazing sounding speaker. I purchased the matching 5 speakers without listing to them....as they are supposed to be sonically matched...thats why I am a bit scared. We will see. The new speakers are in....I just need to pick them up
  16. My room requires the side surround to be in the middle of the room. I have had a heresy there for 4 years. I did not fully appreciate how directional it was until i was standing in the middle of the room playing Kinect at X-mas time. so, i replaced the side surrounds with RS-62s...and i can hear a really big timbre mis match...and quite frankly, the sides sound better than the mains/center.....so I replaced the rest of them to match the sides. Most expensive Kinect system Microsoft ever sold....
