  1. I got following system. yamaha rx 667 with klipsch RF 52 fronts, RC 51 center , RB 41 surround and Polk PSW 505 Sub. I am using YAPO to perform auto setup it has setup front as large and surround as large. It also setup 160 hz crossover for the Sub psw 505. What is recommended crossover for this setup ? Anybody can help ? Also does it make sense to have surround as large ? or i should setup them to small ? Great room is 19 X 18 and connected with open kitchen and braksaft of 18 X 18 with a 4 feet pony wall between. All has 9 feet ceilings. I have yamaha receiver setup with extra bass. Overall decent performance but i think i ma need to tune up.
  2. So if I plan to go with one sub for now ... would sub driver size matter 10" or 12" with front speaker size 5-1/4" drivers
  3. I have RF 52, RC 51 has 5-1/4 " driver. I want to know which Sub driver would be suitable ? 10" or 12". Is 12" always better than 10" ? OR driver size of front & center matters to get overall effect ? If I go for 12" sub would I lose any mid bass as my front /center drivers are 5-1/4 " . I was thinking that if I had front of say 8"driver then better to go for 12" sub but as I have 5-1/4"drivers then 10" sub be more effective ? Or this does not matter and I would get very good overall effect with 5-1/4" front & center with 12" sub ? i.e. 12" covers everything for 10" and even more LF. Also would it be good to have 2 Subs ? May be one 8" and other 12" ? I have yamaha 7.2 RX 667 receiver without amp. and not planning to get amp immediately. Thinking about Polk PSW505 or Klipsch RD-12 for 12" when they come on sale on newegg. Appreciate your responses. Thanks a lot in advance

  5. I see on Yamah website 7-channel 630W powerful surround sound (90W x 7) Most of the R 5's speakers says 100W rating.I am planning 5.1 setup as of now that too I am yet to get a Sub. How do I know I am putting too much pressue on receiver ? I hope it will trip down if speakers try to pull more current ? and wont damage ?
  6. Do I need to have a separate Amp with Yamaha 667 with following setup ? or connecting yamaha 667 to these speakers wont be a problem. Also I see yamaha 667 receiver has pre amps. I am new to this stuff, It's my first home theater sysem. 1. Yamaha RX-V667BL 2. Klipsch RF-52 II Floorstanding pair 3. Klipsch RC-52 II Center 4. Klipsch RB-41 II: - Pair Will add Sub in few months ( Sub 10 or RW 10 or any other company) with around 200W power, I guess I will go for powered Sub.
  7. I just got below system in a combo deal - 1. Yamaha RX-V667BL 2. Klipsch RB-41 II: - Pair 3. Klipsch RF-52 II Floorstanding pair 4. Klipsch RC-52 II Center There is not subwoofer included. Frankly I have streched my budget to get all these together. I want to know if Sub purchase is delayed by few months would it be OK ? May be until I get a decent deal. Can this system without Sub give reasonable bass in 18 ft X 19 Ft room ? Or system wont soung good without Sub ? funny thing is I am yet to hook this system together. I know I have to listen the sound but just want to get a feedback from experience people in this forum. Also which would be a good match sub for this system , which wont be costly ? Would other company Sub work well ? I see lot of deals on Polk Sub these days. Any other such recommendation would be appreciated. I am kind of new bee who does not know much about Cross over !!
  8. Hi Vedang, I just bough other newegg deal which has Yamaha 667 receiver ( #1 rated receiver in 2010 in that price range) But combo does not have Sub and has RB 41 for Surrounds with rest of the setup of 2 RF 52 and RC 52. All for $1000. I heard RF 52 in Ultimate Electronics and they "sounded very good to me with 2 floor standing and one Center channel". My roomsize is 18 ft by 19 ft and think they would sound good for that size room. I would be hunting for the Sub deal now, infacted posing question in Sub category on whether I should go with Klipsch Sub or any other decent low cost sub would go well with those.
