Apparently in part because of a disagreement over a $500 billion fund to make loans to businesses without any requirement to disclose who the recipients are.  One side claims lack of transparency (a "slush fund").  The other claims secrecy is required because if the public knows who is lining up for aid, investor confidence in those companies will plummet.

I wonder where they think the populace is going to go back to work if these companies do not survive?

  2. Fed Promises Unlimited QE, Corporate Bond Buying, Muni Buying, and Main Street Credit

The Federal Reserve said Monday it will purchase unlimited amounts of Treasuries and mortgage-backed securities and buy corporate bonds, municipal bonds, and asset-backed securities for the first time.

The Fed announced a major expansion of its programs to support the economy on Monday morning following several days of frantic moves by the central bank to expand its support for credit and money markets. Fiscal support for the economy, in the form of spending and lending programs from the federal government, stalled on Capitol Hill over the weekend.

The Federal Open Market Committee, the Fed’s monetary policymaking unit, said it would purchase Treasury and mortgage securities “in the amounts needed to support smooth market functioning and effective transmission of monetary policy to broader financial conditions and the economy.”

And a death in Nigeria from an overdose of the drug...

I'd be willing to bet that every cure for every thing has killed one person.

If you get the bug and you are offered this cure, turn it down....just to be safe.

On top of Corona virus, we had three bad earthquakes this morning. Last one more serious than this was 140 years ago.

First one was 5,5 Richter, second 5,0 and third 3,7.

There is a lot of damaged buildings.

    Where?

All the major news networks have mentioned the possibility of these drugs. They have been around for years, are readily available and could be given to someone when they first get tested, before the actual result for a Covid-19 test are known. This way they could be ahead on treatment if they come pack positive.

She also asks the hospital guy if this drug combo could be a preventative in the next segment on her show.

  6. New Mexico has 27 cases as of yesterday.

Most are up around Albuquerque and Santa Fe (the special people). We have 2 in Socorro Country who came back from Egypt with it and are self quarantining.

In Catron Country (where I live) there are none. We have a population density (average) of one person per 2 square miles.

It's mail day so I will be going to the mail boxes at 10 to get the mail. That's one of my biggest exposure days of which there are 3 per week.

We have been self quarantining for years.

Might go to Walmart next week in Socorro.

  7. If anything I believe the "manufactured crisis" falls squarely on the shoulders of China, who did not even tell the rest of the world there was a crisis for a month after they knew about it.
Other suspicious behavior is them throwing US reporters out of the country so that we do not know what is going on over there.
China and a number of other countries have never been our friend and only acted friendly so they could empty our pockets.
    Please consider the following articles.

Tucker: Why would America's media take China's side amid coronavirus pandemic?
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W9vjsFQUUU

The article also claimed that China could impose pharmaceutical export controls which would plunge America into "the mighty sea of coronavirus."

  8. Chances of getting Corona.

Just saw a news headline that the amount of people who have been infected world wide has just soared to 200,000.

The amount of people who have died. world wide,  is 8,000.

There are currently 7,800,000,000 in the world. In case I put not enough zeros in, lets round it off to 8,000,000,000 (8 billion).

If you divide 8 billion by 8 thousand that is one in one million.

Might have stated before.... I'm not playing with this crap!

  11. This is one of the few concerns I have because my only out of house exposure is when I go to get the mail at the mailbox 2 miles away on Monday Wednesday and Friday,

and the occasional UPS delivery to the house. I feel better for having read this article.

Can you catch coronavirus from surfaces?
    https://www.foxnews.com/health/can-you-catch-coronavirus-surfaces

The CDC's website says surfaces can be contaminated with COVID-19. The website adds, though, that there are no known cases that started in that manner.
"The scientists found that severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was detectable in aerosols for up to three hours, up to four hours on copper, up to 24 hours on cardboard and up to two to three days on plastic and stainless steel," according to the NIH.

I don't think that's fair. While I wasn't exactly his biggest fan, he did accomplish quite a few good things. Also, he was predictable.

Political discussions are mostly a waste of time. My honest opinion is that they all fall short and disappoint.

    Ok I take it back.

He was good at giving away pallet loads of tax payer money to the world's greatest sponsor of terrorism.
