  1. Thank you tblasing for your post. So if i well understood you preconize passive by amping more than active ? Some of my friends who use passive bi-amping have a tube amp for high-mid range frequency and a transistor's for bass (better response and cheaper for high value amping than tube). they use one stereo amp for 2 high frequency crossover and another one for the 2 low, since they have "2 half amp" one each cabinet.

Actually a have 2 mono-bloc tube amp (4 6V6GT on each) in mono-amp configuration. I thing i will take 2 more to make passive bi-amp in future (one for high and one for low filter) and i'm thing about active crossover for maximum optimisation (so take out the internal filters) but this solution demands a lot of work and a lot af knowing about the actual caracteristic of the filters, and i dont know. That the reason why a ask you, fan of Klipsch 2.gif It might be too difficult fr mee to realise active bi-amping but a really want to try it 9.gif

    Thank you for all.

  2. Well i mean i want to take out the crossover of my klf30 and before amps use an active crossover for them. Since i'll can optimize the acoustic response of the klf30 and my room.

But to do this a need the maximum input power of each driver of the klf30 to calibrate the level of each way at the output of the active crossover (i think about RANE or similar product).

  3. Hi,

I wood like to know how find the good values to make active amping for my Klipsch KLF30. I read that crossover are 825Hz for bass and 7000Hz for high frequency but is it the same value to choose for an active amping ? What is the maximum power in each driver (in global this is 200 watt and 800 in max) and wich decay to choose (-6 dB/octave, -12 dB/octave, -24db/octave) ?

Well, i'am in the fog for that purpose 6.gif

Sorry for my poor inglish 1.gif

    Thank's

  4. LesHalles : I do not spoken about subwoofer ??

decible man : I saw what preconized Dolby but they speak about booksheld surround not bipolar one. I think there is a big difference between them for placement no ?

I will do several testing and i will see :-)

    thanks for your help ;-)

    front : KLF30

    center : KLF-C7

    surround : rs7 (not yet)

    preamp:Myryad MDP500

    1 Nad 216 (bridged for C7)

    4 Nad 214 for bi-wiring KLF30

  5. Ok so, if i anderstood, it's better to put in the middle of my lateral wall between the front and the back wall (like rear) even if i havent surround(side) woofer ?

I'll project in first time to place it in the location of my surround, so bad idee... ? Confused.gif

  6. Hello,

I will have a pair of rs-7 for my surround and i would like to know the best placement for this dipolar woofer.

My probleme is that my sofa is put in the back wall, so i have only 1-1.5m to the sides.

What is better 0,45 or 90 degres orientation to the back wall ?

Thanks, and sorry for my poor english... Wink.gif

  7. Well, i've thinking my future Klipsch configuration all night long ... and i notice another problem :

i will upgrade to 6.1dts and 7.1dd for my mdp500 so what choice for back(surround) effect ?

Ok to choose ksps6 for rears but i read on forum that rs7+rb3/rb5 is the best choice

ksps6 and rb3/rb5 shoud be ok too ??

my system: sony1271 with pcht (dsub15-5bnc mogami) and optical cable to preamp Myryad mdp500. DIY screen (2.4m*1.35 16/9) 3 Nad 214 power amp HarmanKardon avr300 for pseudo-6.1 Sherwood sp212 for subwoofer

  8. My room isn't big to much to take large surround and i am living in appartement not a quite house( at the 4th floor ) so with the klf30 it's enought for the 'voisinage' cwm35.gif

what do you think about 4 ksps6 (if i could find it !!) ?

good night... time to sleep for me. :-)

  9. T-T-K it-s a joke isnt it ??

I mean Alabama is far from Paris :-)

I can find probably S6 in Belgium. Is it ok to mix s6 and rb or better take only Legend serie s6 and klf10 ?

The difference in term of qualite/price is better for wich association ?

I notice several technical points :

    surround bookshelf RB-5 96dB 48-20kHz 150W

    RB-3 94dB 52-20kHz 100W

    KLF10 98dB 32-20kHz 150W

    rears dipoles RS-3 95dB 49-20kHz 110W

    RS-7 98dB 49-20kHz 150W

    KSP-S6 94dB 60-20kHz 150W

    i'll receive my klf30 + c7 next sunday ... keen sunday !

    read you sooncwm1.gif

  10. Thanks for your comments,

In fact, i will upgrade my Myryad MDP500 to 7.1 channel and for instance my room is small (5m*4m) so with klf30 and c-7 i was thinking one pair of ksps6 (very difficult to find in France) and one pair of (RB-3 or RB-5).They have the same tone (coloration) ?

I will plainty enjoy my HT when i'l have a bigger room but now i have to make a choice for the back. And most important find it cwm33.gif

    to read you.

    cwm1.gif

ps: question of price... pair of klf10 : ~1100$ pair of ksps6 ~800$ ouch !!

  11. I'am going to buy a pair of klf30 and one klfc-7. What is the most homogeneous with this system ? I was thinking about ksps-6 rears or RS-3/RS-5 ? but for surround ?? RB-5 ? RB-3 ? klf10 (much expensive) ?

    thanks for your suggest...

ps: sorry for my poor english cwm36.gif
