Now the 5.1 and 4.1 , ifi or GMX cost a lot more, are discontinued and hard to find a good used set. The ifi and GMX systems control docks are impossible to find and useless without them. I wish they made a good 5.1 system but they don't make these systems anymore. I guess I'll have to pull all the subs from the boxes and make some type of monster sub box powered by a quality amp. It would feel really wrong to throw away all these perfectly good klipsch sub woofers. Too good for garbage if you know what I mean. Now the control pods and the junk bash amps they use , the dump would be the perfect place for them.

The more I read on the Internet about the different systems I own and so many people having the same issues with the same systems, leads me to believe yes indeed there is some design flaws in these systems. The promedia 5.1 thx and the 4.1 systems have amp overheating problems. More airflow from an internal fan would have avoided these amp failures. The gmx d5.1 and the IFI systems seem to have a control pod problem. The fact that Klipsch discontinued the parts for these systems prematurely gives them a bad customer service mark in my book. These systems are not cheap as you have to be able to shell out some Benjamin's to own them. One would think when these systems are hooked up to a good UPS power supply and located in a permanent location with cords seldom moved other than cleaning the area, that one would get more longevity. I understand that people on this site love there Klipsch as do I or I wouldn't keep buying more. I just believe if a person is willing to shell out above average bucks for these systems that they should last a good long time, be fixed for free or at a minimum sell the replacement parts for them.

I have 2.1 computer speakers one channel died $200 2- 4.1 systems where on both one satellite produces no sound and one has a distortion squeal.2x400 = $800. 5.1 promedia thx no sound out of satellites but sub end still works $400. 3 sets IFI ipod / computer set where control pod died $400 X3= $1,200. Promedia GMX D-5.1 Control pod died $400. The only klipsch thing still working is my 800w 15" powered sub. The speakers and subs are awesome and always sound good but klipsch amp and controllers are lacking to say the least. I guess their inability to design a durable computer set up is why they stopped making them. I truly enjoyed these systems while they worked but now they just take up storage space on a shelf in my basement. Anyone know where I can get this stuff fixed at a reasonable price without having to spend so much to fix them combined with shipping that would cost more than I could sell some off for?
