  1. Exactly. I concur with neron112. I don't think we can determine for sure if a pair of S4's is a fake or not depending on the SQ. I do think this approach is very subjective, since people have different perceptions about it, even if the source of the sound is the same. And this, without considering the different inclinations or tastes (some may like classical music, while some one else may prefer pop or hard rock, and others may like techno above all; each one of which requires specific sound features). And I don't want to get into hearing capabilities, which obviously are also different from one person to another. What we are missing here is an official stand from KLIPSCH itself, laying out all the physical differences between an authentic item and another that is not. That way everybody will know for sure what to look (not hear) for.
  2. Hi Amy. Thank you for having responded to the concerns expressed in this thread. Basically, it seems to me that almost everybody is complaining about the logo in the s4's fading away rather quickly after a very short time after being used (in some cases, within hours). Now, my impression is that this should not happen to the original, authentic (not fake) Klipsch earpieces, as you have conceded; not even after a rather long, reasonable time. Needless to say, we will all be waiting to know the findings of the investigation Klipsch is conducting about this issue.
  3. Mmh... Judging from the time Amy is taking to post a reply to this thread, I'd say there's definitely something wrong with the (original) S4 series... Should the complaint be groundless, they'd immediately confirm it, which has not happened as of yet... Mmh, indeed...
  4. Hullo ! I bought mine about a month ago. At first, I couldn't manage to get the peculiar ear-seal you need in order for them to fully display their potential; none of the included ear tips could get the job done, no matter how I squeeze them in my ears... They just sounded like the cheapest earphones available anywhere. I knew it was hard to get them to sound the way they were supposed to for all the reviews I read about them (and believe me, I read over 50) However, everything changed the moment I changed the ear tips. First, I used the large sized Sennheiser's silicone tips (I got big ears), and though they definitely improve the quality of the sound and achieved a tight seal, I knew they could sound even better. Next, I tried the Skullcandy's large silicone tips (which are somehow softer than the Sennheiser's) and WOW! Finally, the sound I was looking for was there and more. However, even with these ear tips, I still spend some time squeezing them right to get the proper seal. Now, on to the issue at hand: One thing I immediately noticed was the fading of the logo on the right side only after 1 week of use. I went ahead and searched on the web to see if this was a clear sign of them being a fake, but there were no mentions about it, until I came about this thread (by then, the logo on the left side was gone too). If, indeed, the logo on both earphones fade away so fast normally, then I will not be concerned. However, it would be great if a Klipsch representative confirms this. KLIPSCH, are you listening (reading)?!?!
