  1. You mean if I install the plug-in right, not the media jukebox, right? Well how would I have to install it then?
  2. I was just wondering what players you guys use to play you're music with the 4.1s. I used to love winamp, but then I got the 4.1s. Had to switch to media jukebox witch works great for me cause of its dsp features like intelli-volume (vital for 4.1s) and virtual sub. So far I can not find any plug-ins for winamp like those. But the only thing I disslike about the media jukebox is its scaricity of great visual plug-ins, witch winamp has plenty of.
  3. The standby button is when it's red right? Well with it on, will the sub still get hot?
  4. "do not use s surge protecter as a power switch for the system, either leave it on, or push the standbye mode button" What exactly do you mean by that and why?
  5. I just got my replaced 4.1s because my original ones blew and started making that scratchy sound everyone is talking about. Now with these new ones I don't want anything to go wrong, so I made some questions up that I would like to have answered with professional/experienced advice. What exactly is the wearing-in period for these speakers? How long do I have to do the wear-in procedure on them? Would it be bad to just start blasting my 4.1s as soon as possible? (i hope not) Should I completely turn off the speaker system when not in use, so it won't get so hot for extended periods of time? What are some other steps I should follow so my 4.1s could just last me longer?
  6. Sorry man i don't understand. How do i tell? I thought i had only one sub? And my does seem to be better, just not the way it used to be. Not even close.
  7. I recently had my sub blow or something like that. I had my speakers blasting and then all of a sudden, they made a messed up hiss-like noise and ever since that day the base has been awful makin static noises instead of outputing the power it once had. What I want to know is if they might get better over time or something because it seems like the base is a little bit better then b4, but still bad?
  8. Before I say anything, my 4.1s are known to be the best sounding speakers in my college dorm. People are shocked at the quality and power of them everytime they come in my room and my neighbors hate me (heh...but always show up when a movie is being watched in my room on my pc). Although sadly, I recently experienced the same problem. I was blasting my speakers with some heavy bass music while I was being taught how to break dance outside my room. I had max surround and max sub and my vol was a little bit past the half way point on the nob. All of a sudden I hear a nasty static-like noise and my heart just sank into my stomach. That night I did not sleep. Similarily to chrisMOG, everytime I would turn the bass nob past the halfway point with my vol nob only 1/4 up, I would hear the static bullshit instead of the incredible bass I used to have. I got these speakers last summer with my system from a custom pc company on the net and i should still have the receipt. So should I call them or kilpsch?
  9. Juston thanx for the info about the crack. The Media Jukebox is AWESOME!!! the sound coming out of my speakers soonds so much better then b4. Sad, i never thought ever replace winamp.
  10. I've been having problems with my klipsch 4.1s, but I must say that they are kind of minor and plus my sound card (sb live plat 5.1) might be f*cking things up. So I want to know how to tell if they are defective?
  11. guys i'm having the same problem and i'm in college too and did not have this problem back home. I started a post to find out if i need to change my system settings. I'm also having problems with my sub. Do u guys find ur sub not acting that powerfull as once was and ur speakers ( i think the ones in the back) being too powerfull like thumping much more then the sub. its freakin weird and annoying. But i must say that when the volume isn't cranked up the 4.1s sound awesome. its just when i go beyond half way with the volume on the control pod speaker.
  12. thanx man, but i need to know all the specs. On my volume control (called play control that my sb live plat 5.1 sets up i guess) i have the following options: -Play Control (my master volume) is at like 50% -its advanced control: 30% bass and like 50% treble -Wave/DirectSource at 90% -SPDIF-In on mute -CD Digital on mute -MIDI on 50% -Line-in2 on mute -Line-in on 20% -mic on mute -pc speaker on 50% but mute -auxiliary on 20% -TAD-In on mute should any of that be changed?
  13. What are the best system settings that are ideal for making the best sound output from the 4.1s. I am talking about everything from volume settings to sound card settings (sb live plat 5.1)
  14. what other plug-ins might help me out? does anybody know?
  15. thanx justin for the info. I'm trying to find a winamp plug-in that'll help me out, but so far i didn't find anything that good. Maybe DFX 5?
  16. yeah i was searching for a crack or something. Couldn't find it. But yeah I love winamp and am shocked that it might be causing these problems.
  17. Any other software players (would be nice if freeware) that can help me out?
  18. thanx man. I also have a Creative Playcenter 2.0 that came with my sblive plat 5.1s would that work?
  19. i have the 4.1s but sometimes when i play my cd files as well as mp3 files i get a crackling noise. Why is that and how does it happen? Also, it might be me but it seems as though my sub isn't as powerful as it once was. Kinda Seems like my speakers are thumping more than the sub. Maybe i didn't arrange my wires right or something or just maybe the sub(along with speakers) i got is just bad?
  20. thanx guys. yeah i'm fine with my plat 5.1 card and the amp on my 4.1s is just too good. Just wanted to know if that card i mentioned is any good news. guess not
  21. I was checking out the soundcards reviewed in mp3.com and one was this addon card called the TIO Digital Audio Amplifier Card. It got 5 out of 5 stars and only $60. So it seems to be pretty damn good and a great value. My question is if it'll make my fabulous 4.1s sound even better? The soundcard I have now is the sb live Platinum 5.1. http://hardware.mp3.com/hardware/individual/2447.html
  22. Porno Pete thats exactly what i'm worried about. In september i'm gona be goin to a dorm and i'm worried that I won't be able to listen to these speakers loudly.
  23. I was wondering wich one is better. Of course in a forum like this I should be expecting a lot of Klipsch replies, but if so give me good reason and don't forget that the DTT2500s are 5.1 and dobly digital. My 4.1s are already in the mail, but i'm beginning to worry about the sound. Before I fall asleep I like to listen to my music and i make it pretty damn quiet. Will the 4.1s be able to sound good quiet almost as well as they sound LOUD? p.s.- don't get me wrong I like my music loud, just not all the damn time.
  24. Thanks a lot viv and bajachepe. Although there is a good chance I'll buy an extra 2.1 speaker system (just give me time to save up money), what I'm really concerned with is Cambridge's DTT2500s 5.1 feature. Just because it has it and dolby digital, the DTT2500s still aren't better the Klipsch 4.1s, right?
