  1. Both the fake and the legit tins i have are both magnetic. 100% sure of the status of both.
  2. Hi guys, Loving my S4's but I was wondering if anyone has any tips to reduce the noise that is produced by things rubbing against the length of the cable, for example while walking/running. Not that much of a problem in the scope of things, but i was just wondering if anyone had any good ideas. Thanks!
  3. My set from Amazon finally arrived after almost 2 months of waiting. Big difference. For the record, i think they were an older set of white headphones. They were cheap at ~$50, and come with all the same stuff as my fake ones did so I don't think there is really a way to tell them apart except for the sound quality. The only real difference between them was the box was blue (which i assume is just a revised box style) and the tin has arguably better quality metal. No difference in the logo for me. Those fakes are amazing replicas. If only they could replicate the sound as well as they replicate the appearance. The fakes really hurt to wear because i had to jam them into my ears pretty far to get any decent sound. These sound perfect after putting them in and giving them a slight twist to set them in place. Really digging the new headphones despite all the hassle it took to get them. Thanks guys.
  4. Hi, I asked this in another thread, but considering it's probably useful for people with this rash of fake s4s around. I thought i would make it a separate thread. Is anyone able to provide a list of authorised dealers for those of us outside the US and Canada? or optionally an authorised US store that is happy to sell internationally. Specifically I'm after locations in Australia, but other international locations would be welcome, i'm sure. http://www.sounddistributors.com/ say they are authorised and have a reasonable price, but it's hard to take them on their word. Please help. I'd like to know my next set of S4s are definitely going to be legit.
  5. It is a subjective thing. I think if these were my first inner ear headphones i might think they sounded pretty good. I have to admit after burning them in overnight they certainly sound more acceptable, except for the fact that I have to set the balance almost completely to the right side to compensate. I think someone was correct in saying these are more likely to be smuggled factory rejects. The replication of the design just seems a little too perfect for it to be a knockoff. In other news, I received a reply from my ebay seller saying that the other three pairs he's sold have had similar reports, so he's expecting they are fake though he was under the impression they were genuine. I've had my money refunded so I guess I've made out of this pretty well, considering. Can someone recommend an authorised seller for Australia with reasonable prices? I'd like to give a proper pair a go for comparisons sake if nothing else.
  6. I also bought some S4s on ebay, from an Australian seller and have been pretty upset with the sound quality. The sound is unbalanced with the right bud lacking volume and bass. No problem with the logo rubbing off though. Box is the old style, silver/grey, L-shaped plug, 4 pairs of caps (s,m,l and s flanged) which were in a plastic baggie and a cleaner. Everything other than the sound quality seems legit, which makes me wonder if it's just a defective unit rather than a fake. I figure they probably aren't an authorised reseller, but i was wondering how you tell. There doesn't seem to be anywhere on the klipsch website that lists authorised sellers. Help? Serial and barcode are 101047109337385 and 7 43878 02129 5 respectively. I've contacted the seller and I'm still waiting for a response. In the meantime I'm going to wear in the phones overnight and see how they sound in the morning. Pretty sad about the experience at the moment.
