  1. So ill be replacing the amp with a BASH 500w tomorrow. Ill probably also throw in a bag or two of polyfill and see how it sounds. Ill keep posted. I was going to do the BASH 300 but after measure the speakers resistance I opted for the larger 500w since it will be pushed at 6ohms....hoping for a slight improvement.
  2. Id be willing for a couple bucks to help me fund a new amp...contact me....brett.Wisniewski@gmail.com if interested
  3. It came up 5ohm so im guessing this is a 6ohm configuration? The bash 300s is 300rms at 4 ohms so prob like 200rms at 6? Maybe I should go for the 500s?
  4. You are correct I followed the wire.......1 more question is the sub12 4 or 8ohm im looking to replace the amp w a bash 300s amp which is rated at 300rms at 4ohms.
  5. So my sub 12 has the infamous fuse issue......I found a BASH amplifier 300S that will seem to work just fine. I dont have a making the opening larger my only question is when I took the old amplifier out there was a (+) (-) cable and a white cable. What is the white cable and will it connect to the new BASH amplifier (non-OEM)?
  6. I have a sub12 now and although I am happy w it overall....I feel the bass could be a bit cleaner and tighter. I don't think I need more volume as my sub12 is plenty loud..thinking maybe 2 sw-110 or 2wether rw-10d? Gotta see how budget goes and what kind of deals I can find and if I can sell my sub12. Im thinking of having them all up front it will go......rf-82-->sub-->wallunit-->sub-->rf82
  7. Sorry if this has been discussed but I have not been able to locate it. Speaking about similar subs of course say....2-rw-10's or 1-rw-12...which one would sound best for HT? 2 -10's would look cooler in my setup but im more concerned with sound. If this has been discussed at nausium please send me in the right direction.
  8. Throw this question in to the mix.....for those that have the option to have bass come from mains+sub, or just sub what do you choose?
  9. Im using 5 speaker setup w a 7.1 receiver and naturally have the option to use the rears as..."surround back" or "surrounds". Which one should I be using and does it matter?
  10. Im being overly cautious so before I do anything im asking ALL questions so my equipment doesnt get ruined. I have Marantz MA500 amps that Im going to plug into the switched section of a power center. It will be triggered on by my Denon 12v out. Question is .....the amps power will be constantly in the ON position and will be turned on and off by cutting the power to the surge protector naturally. Will this cause a problem or is this any different then hitting the power button on the front? Essentially this setup would be like pulling the plug while the amps are witeched on and plugging them back in to power them up.
  11. I will try that as soon as I get home........Thanks so much! Would it change anything if I said that the receiver is still acting up with NOTHING plugged into it.
  12. Well I found a local electronic shop that gives free estimates so its in the shop now........Im just nervous that I can't hunt down the problem and this happens to my new receiver coming in the mail.....Like I said the only thing I changed was adding the marantz monoblocks...but how hard is that just hook up to the pre outs and done.....maybe I jarred something loose while I was moving around the receiver??? Ill keep you guys posted...maybe ill be able to point someone in the right direction one day. Anyone know where I can get a decent price set of banana plugs maybe if I do EVERY connection in them it will lessen my chances of a short.
  13. Any idea what is the most common part that goes on these things? Im thinking about just buying parts and replacing them if there inexpensive.
  14. Ok so im going to try and track this down but let me make sure my logic ia correct.....so since my receiver is the one that powered off and my amps stayed on then it must have been one or the speakers directly connected to the receiver and not the external amps right? So were thinking me hooking up the external amps and this happening is coquicendence. Maybe me moving the receiver jarred something loose.
