  1. I know it gets a signal because my other sub works perfect on the same pre-out
  2. I agree it is highly both are bad, has me really confused, I have the sub lpf for LFE at 120htz. And the trim level was at +5 on audyssey......when I turned the trim level down the sub went down like normal.....when I raised the trim level I got nothing?? Sounds crazy. The reciever is a brand new 3311Ci and my other sub works perfect on it....lot smaller though LOL!! What has me confused is it worked withn the test tone then when I turned down the trim level and went back up it stopped.....maybe a short???
  3. My other sub works on that line...I eve switched it to the other pre-out and it still doesn't work.
  4. Okay, first thing I want to say is Elemental design is bending over backwards to help me with the below issue but need some opinions. Got the sub and the 500 watt amp would not work, called Elemental design and that amp is being ordered so they sent me a 300 watt amp this morning and it doesn't work?? I worked for about 10 seconds with a Audyssey test tone then I turned down the volume a bit and went to turn it back up and it no longer works??? I was wondering if my Denon reciever is campatable with the subwoofer (A5-350). I am trying to just figure this out...never seen anything like it. All spekers set to small Lowpass filter set to highest to cancel it out for Audyssey.
  5. The DSX wides are way better than S.back because the S.back you may hear 1X in 6 months where as the Audyssey DSX wides and Heights are in all 5.1 content.
  6. I recently went from bipoles to direct firing RB-61II and I personaly like the sound better and wanted your guys opinions on the 2 placement options. They are 2 feet above MLP and currently about 2 Ft behind MLP directly across from one another. I was wondering if Figure #2 was a better option...I was going to put them on a shelf but angle at the rear of MLP as seen in the diagram. In there current position they do sound pretty good...just wondering if figure #2 would improve. Thanks for your input/opinions. Figure #1 (current position) Figure #2 (angled)
  7. I am upgradiing to a RC64II this week. I have always set the crossovers to 80- Htz on Audyssey and set speakers to small...is this waht you guys suggest? yep i suggest that. You will still get all of your hd codecs with an amp. Well as long as you are breaking out the wallet how about some rf-7ii? LOL!! I probally will soon.
  8. I will be ordering one of thes if I still get all the decoding and Audyssey still works when using it.
  9. I am upgradiing to a RC64II this week. I have always set the crossovers to 80- Htz on Audyssey and set speakers to small...is this waht you guys suggest?
  10. I was thinking about this one:http://emotiva.com/xpa5.shtm
  11. I am actually reseaching this...never have I used a external amp. Am I getting this correct:1. You would basically use the reciever for the signal? Basically my fronts, wides, center would be hooked up via pre-out with audio cables to the external amp and my heights & surrounds would still be plugged into the reciever? Basically the reciever is just used for signals to those channels? 2. This may be a dumb question...Will Audyssey still work with the external amp and will I still get the decoding (DTS,Dolby Ect)? How would the Audyssey settings be transferred to the other amp 3. I was thinking 200-250 watts per channel X 5...any suggestions on amps?
  12. I went with RB-61II for surrounds about 2 feet above MLP and 1 1/2 feet behind MLP. I also upgraded my wides to RF-82II so I have a total of 4 up front and boy is that some good sound!
  13. If I do that on the otherside they will go up the stairs LOL!! close as I can put them is about 1-2 feet behind me. I may iuse A ned pair of RB-61II instead.
  14. I believe they are ideal for surrounds. They provide a much more dispersed, non-directional sound for effects (bullets, ricochet, flyby etc). Did you have them mounted on the side walls, a few degrees behind your listening position and 2 - 3 feet above your head? THX Placement Recommendations for 5.1 THX Recommendations for 7.1 I have them about 3.5 Ft behind my listening position. I have them on a ball mount swiveled towards the listening position not flat on the wall. I am think that maybe they need to be flat on the wall to dispense the sound better. I did notice that with the one side towards my listening position the sound will not bounce of my front wall and hit MLP. Here is how they are positioned: Figure 1: (Current placement) Position of RS-52II speakers: Figure 2: (Alternate placement)
  15. Lot of people where saying that with the DTS discrete channels that bipoles are inferior. I listen to a LOT of DTS material. I do like hearing sounds on the left and right with a lot of content...bullets, machine guns ECT
  16. I am getting one VERY soon. Personally I have owned all 3 (rc-52, rc-62 and the rc-64ii) the latter of each are all huge upgrades. The 52 to me couldn’t keep up very well. The 62 keeps up pretty good and is a great speaker but the 64 is a different level of sound compared to all the reference centers I have owned. (I also had the RVX-42) Well then I must have it, I want it to expand my center a bit since my fronts are pretty far apart.
  17. Are Bipoles good surrounds or overrated?I have been reading for the past 3 hours about the debate against bipole/dipole/monople....wich are better in your opinion. I just bought a pair of these and if they are inferior I will take them back....don't want a week spot in my system. My system is used for movies and gaming primarly. Bipoles I got are RS-52II
  18. Just realized the name of my post says "dipole" I meant "Bipole" LOL!!
  19. JasonJcarney: Noticed you have a 64II center...how do you like it and what did you have before?? Trying to see what the difference will be between a 62II and a 64II. You also have the sub I just got to LOL!! have a replacement amp on the way....how does the sub perform...mine I havent heard yet LOL!
  20. So in the diagram it shows a bipole speaker and it has sound in basically a circle in front of it, so there is no gap between the right and left side of the speaker. So if I where to put the center of the speaker at the midle of MLP it would have sound in front and back of the MLP?? What I am trying to figure out is this: When I place a Bipole on the wall flat, it shoots sound at a angle from the left/right side via a tweeter and mid range woofer, so if I place the speaker flat on the wall and the center of the speaker is at my MLP it will shoot sound in front ad in back correct?
  21. I am also this weekend upgrading the wides...I was going to upgrade them to RF-62II or RF-82II haven't decided yet...any opinions?
  22. Hey guys, I need some opinions on the placement of My RS-52II Dipole surrounds (Link below for discription). I basically have a lot of options....I currently have the on ball mounts I can swivel them slightly and have the angled toward the listening position not angled down totally level and about 3Ft behind MLP (Figure 1 is my current position). My listening position is a 3 seat stadium seating and I have them angled towards the left & right shoulder of the middle chair. The area behind the listening position is not used much so I am trying to get the best sound near my listening position. The reason I am confused is I have NEVER used bipole...only direct radiating and always had the sound going above my MLP and with these at 90 degress the sound will go near the front of the soundstage instead of directly over the top of the MLP, and behind me wich is okay. I was just wondering if surround sound is really supposed to go in front of your MLP. My question is wich is better placement? If I where to keep Figure 1 placement is it frowned upon to angle these slightly downwards towards the listening position?
