I have nothing now , So yes I just heard from a friend the onkyo clicks like the integra I hated that . I might just go with another SC-57
-
1799 for a new 5508 a good price ?
-
Im just running 5.1 I dont need more than 1-2 zones 2 just incase I decide to use it one day I had a Integra 50.2 Maybe I should of just kept it
-
I already got the SC-57 it has bad HDMI ports 1-2-3 its getting sent back
-
True but I dont want to be without till then Im going to call pioneer in the morning see what they say before packing the SC-57 up maybe I missed somthing but I doubt it spent the weekend with it
-
Yeah I had a UMC-1 I sold it and the UMC 3d is the same unit with a 3D chip added XMC who knows when that will come suppose to be by April 2012 I got 2 40% off cards sitting here but to be honest I would probally never buy another processor from emotiva
-
I agree 100% when I ran the SC-57 with no amps it sounded great . I was going to sell my XPA-2 & XPA-3 I really feel I didnt need them . But the Hdmi 1-2-3 are dead on the SC-57 so its getting sent back . Now Im thinking of just buying a SC-37 over the 57 what are you thoughts 37 vs 57

"Automatic Continuous Change of Listening Modes and/or Remote Controller Commands are not accepted" Did you have to send yours in for this problem ?

AV7005 vs 5508 Whats up with the 5509 ?
-
I bought a SC-57 pioneer , its going back since Hdmi 1-2-3 dont work , but I tried it out . All I can say wow it really made my ht sound good with no amps . Now Im in a jam do I keep my integra 50.2 order another SC-57 or go with RX-A3010 from Yamaha I will also lool at some pre pros
-
I agree for music the XPA-2 is better than the XPA-3 I might just keep them both I dont know yet , Im running out of room to tuck things away .
-
Yeah I pretty much decided that I will keep the XPA-3 and sell the XPA-2 reason being RF-7's 250W RC-64 200W RS-62's 150W XPA-3 200X3 so it would drive my front sound stage nice , and there is no reason the SC-57 cant drive the surrounds just fine . Like I said Im not into music , and if I was there is no way I would get rid of the XPA-2 for HT I feel the XPA-3 or XPA-5 are 2 best choices for a 5 ch setup Pioneer Elite SC-57 A/V Receiver HT Labs Measures HT Labs Measures Five channels driven continuously into 8-ohm loads: 0.1% distortion at 115.1watts 1% distortion at 132.0 watts Seven channels driven continuously into 8-ohm loads: 0.1% distortion at 109.6 watts 1% distortion at 123.7 watts

Sorry was ment for this question Side note: have you compared 2ch music with you XPA-3 vs XPA-2?? Curious if there is an audible difference to you.
-
I am more into HT than music , but to be honest I couldnt tell a diffrence between the XPA-2 and XPA-3 Im going to hook up the speakers with only the SC-57 and see how I like it . If I keep 1 amp it will be the XPA-3

Im just wondering , I have RF-7ll fronts and a RC-64ll Center along with RS-62ll surrounds . I just orderd a Pioneer SC-57 it will be here in a couple days . I also have a couple of amps sitting here Emotiva XPA-3 which right now is running my RF-7's and RC-64 along with my Integra 50.2 which runs the surrounds . Im not using the xpa-2 right now Do you think my SC-57 will be okay to run my setup with no amps at all ? I know the cats meow would be the xpa-3 for the surrounds and center and the xpa-2 for the rf-7's but Im hoping to down size a bit and mayber sell the amps to put towards a 8700UB projector and screen . Or do I just use all my hardware and wait till after xmas for my projector and screen . Is anyone running there HT just off of there avr ?

Nice that you went out of your way to make a video , but I need to ask who would base buying these speakers from a youtube video ? There I feel better now getting that out
-
I just installed a XPA-2 for my fronts and moved my XPA-3 for the center and rears , now when I change channels on the cable box it get a static pop out of the left front speaker , so I flipped the left and right rca's on the XPA-2 and the noise comes out of the right speaker . So I know the problem is with the left channel of the amp , I tried new rca's deffrent outlet . Any ideas or should I call emotiva and run it past them for a warranty issue ?

Cant we all just get along ? []

As for the noise I turn down the vol before powering down and its still there at startup . This morning I fired everything up and the vol was at 0 I even waited a min or two and than as soon as I touch the vol at all pop just once and its good till next time , I called emo this morning they said next update should fix that , as for the hdmi I have the hdmi output from the umc-1 running to the tv and the hdmi from the cable box running to the input of the umc-1 i have to wait before I can watch TV for a min " searching for signal " So this morning I picked up a digital cable and I am going to go from the cable box to the tv using hdmi and from the cable box to the umc-1 using the digital cable and see if this works out better , Like I said only reason I bought the umc-1 was for the 40% off card when emo replace the umc-1 with the new 1000.00 model and I will save 400.00 so I will get it for 600.00 then I will sell the umc-1 or use it for the garage the new unit will have 1.4 hdmi 3D bal xlr and more monoprice stuff works great I agree as for the remote the 1100 seems to do everything so far
-
I got the UMC-1 hooked up last night , well kind of I just hooked it to my XPA-3 and fronts and center so I could have some sound to watch my show on tv. I will try and get things hooked up correct maybe this weekend . Iam sure glad the UMC-1 wasnt out when I was married to my ex I would of hated to be in the way of that thing taking flight "deadly weapon " . My Harmony 1100 works fine so I will be packing the UMC-1 remote away . Does anyone else have HDMI sink issues with there UMC-1 ? Or a popping threw the speakers when first turning on ?
-
I never had great results with EMOQ but manual setup you can tweak each individual speaker as much as you want. Do you think its foolish of me to go from a Integra 50.2 to a UMC-1
-
Okay I had a little time this morning , I set it to direct and turned the sub off RF-7ll went from 60hz to full band , It does sound decent now and if I go to stereo mode it dont sound as good . As for audyssey I know people will think Im nuts but I dont care for it , a SPL meter seems to do the trick for me . The preamp I have comming is a EMOTIVA UMC-1 the only reason I bought it was to try it out and get the 40% discount card so I can buy there new model comming out next year Im out of time this morning I will play around more later when I get home

We have very similar rooms minus the fire place. I while back i moved my set up the long way like how you have yours to try it and see how it sounded compared to the narrow way that I have it. I thought the speakers were way to close to the Lp and didn’t sound nearly as good. Also having your couch against a wall makes that even worse. You should try moving it the narrow way in front of the fire place to try it. I recommend sitting a min of 10’ away from the 7s. I thought the same thing along time ago , but what do I do put all my stuff infront of the fireplace ? Also I am 10ft away from my speakers already and to be honest my 50.2 works great when it comes to movies , just like the speakers do . The only problem is music which is only used maybe 20% tops most of the time . I have a preamp comming on Fri I want to try that out also on the music side

what are you using for a source?? TV music video channel, mp3's, pandora, CDs?? Right now Im using my Oppo with a 64GB flash drive , also tried aCD . also tried music channel
