  1. The model number on the speakers is CDR-15. The sales brochure dated April of 1974 on page 13 shows the Cornwall C-D Decorators' Model with cabinet in the vertical position with the vertical mounted & offset horns. My Cornwalls have the horns horizontally mounted and centered above the 15" speaker. Perhaps sometime in 1974 the change of horn placement took effect.
  2. My newly acquired 1974 Klipsch Cornwalls have the horizontal mounted horns centered above the 15" speaker that is mounted in the center. Crossover is labeled type B. Drivers are K-77, K-55-V and K-33-P. The 15" has a ferrite square magnet. Serial numbers are 4M808 & 4M809. These were purchased in November 1974 from Noah's Ark Systems Store in Corning, NY. The speakers came with sales receipt from original owner and has sales brochure #7404 showing the entire Klipsch line of products. A cool touch is on the back of the sales brochure states 'The Mark of loudspeakers fabricated and tested under the personal supervision of Paul W. Klipsch'.
  3. Any suggestions to upgrade the crossover with better capacitors? I figure this is a good place to start. Also, any midrange driver upgrade without cutting the cabinets? Is the CT125 tweeter upgrade a big step forward?
  4. I am now pruod owner of 1974 Klipsch Cornwalls. Will a 2A3 SET provide enough power? Or should I builld a 2A3 PP amp for 10 watts. Listening room is 14 x 22 feet.
