Dear Sir, If you are unfortunately unable to fix your sub-woofer, you may want to consider selling your system for parts. I have checked Ebay for parts, and I find the parts available never include the sub woofer, leading me to conclude this is the most failure prone part of the system. If you ever come to this conclusion, I have a broken speaker stand, and you have a sub woofer someone with repair skills might want to buy so they can fix their own subwoofer.
