  1. Thanks so much for going out of your way to help me out, save me a ton of time, and hook me up with a great subwoofer. Have a great holiday season!!
  2. Stephen, Thanks so much for your help. I read the specs and reviews on the The Emotiva Ultra 12, and it sounds like @ $329, it is better than the Klipsch SW-310 (even at under half price ~$500). I'm more into the quality of sound for music, and it mixing well with my Klipsch RF-82 ii's. I have a ton of space, but it is a townhouse with neighbors, and I'll listen to music about 50 times more than I watch booming movies. Do you think this is the best pick for me? If so, I'll order it tomorrow. Also, will I need 2 of the subwoofer cables (one to go from PS3 to AVR, and one from AVR to subwoofer? Thanks again for all your help! I am stoked! My speakers should arrive Friday, and I guess the subwoofer will only be a week behind! Take care. Cheers! Troy
  3. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help! My setup is as follows:2 RF-82 ii fronts, RC-62 ii center, Denon AVR-1912, PS3, Panasonic 65GT30, Subwoofer (yet to purchase, need advice. How much benefit will I get from bi-amping the RF-82 ii's? And is it difficult and worth the time? Are there any disadvantages, like poteential to blow a speaker? Here are specs on my Denon:Surround System Class 7.1 channel, Response Bandwidth 10 - 100000 Hz, Signal-To-Noise Ratio 100 dB, Input Impedance 47 KOhm,Input Sensitivity 200 mV ,Amplifier Output Details 90 Watt - 8 Ohm - 20 - 20000 Hz - THD 0.08 % - 7 channel(s) ( Surround ),125 Watt - 6 Ohm - THD 0.7 % - 7 channel(s) ( Surround) Also, does a powered subwoofer drain power from the Denon? Any suggestions between the SW-310 for $500 (reg $1050) 400W cont/900W peak vs. something smaller like a Velodyne Impact-12, $319, 165 Watt cont./275W peak? Are either grossly over or under powered for blending with my system?I've got vaulted ceilings and a lot of space to fill, but I am also in a townhouse...Thanks in advance.
  4. I am new to this so I thank anyone in advance who can help me out. I have questions on several topics. Use will be 40% music/40% TV (mostly football)/20% movies (and perhaps 100% irritating my neighbors--although that is not my intention, so if this factors in to subwoofer advice, please consider). My setup is as follows: 2 RF-82 ii fronts, RC-62 ii center, Denon AVR-1912, PS3, Panasonic 65GT30, Subwoofer (yet to purchase, need advice) Room: Odd shaped, living room approx. 20'x20', with 12'x1' open dining attached, fairly open to kitchen, 9' ceilings, but the system is under a 10'x10' cutout vaulting to upstairs about 30' high, and right next to open stair wells going up and down. I can't run rear speaker wires, so I've opted to blow out my budget on really nice front and center speakers to help fill the room. #1, is my Denon AVR-1912 enough to power my 3 speakers (and if so how much subwoofer can it power)? Surround System Class 7.1 channel Response Bandwidth 10 - 100000 Hz Signal-To-Noise Ratio 100 dB Input Impedance 47 KOhm Input Sensitivity 200 mV Amplifier Output Details 90 Watt - 8 Ohm - 20 - 20000 Hz - THD 0.08 % - 7 channel(s) ( Surround ), 125 Watt - 6 Ohm - THD 0.7 % - 7 channel(s) ( Surround ) #2, how much benefit will I get from bi-amping the RF-82 ii's? And is it difficult and worth the time? Are there any disadvantages, like poteential to blow a speaker? #3, what type of speaker wire should I get? #4, Subwoofer. Here's where I might sound stupid. Will I need a subwoofer? If so how much subwoofer to blend right with the speakers? And how much subwoofer will I be able to power with the Denon--or do powered subwoofers not draw from the Denon's power? I've looked at several subwoofers below, but if anyone has a better idea please share. Also, what kind of wire/line will I need for the subwoofer? I found a great deal on the SW-310 subwoofer for $500 (reg $1050) from Accoustic Sound Design where I bought the RF and RC's from.
