I'm not saying the rc 64ii will sound crappy with the rf82ii's or that you shouldn't get it. Here's my experience: My friend has an rf82/rc62 combo. I have the RF7ii/rc64ii combo. He has a larger room than I do as well. We have the exact same AVR and both have emotiva amps. I can say that his setup sounds almost as good as mine does. Now niether of us have giant rooms to fill with sound. Both are dedicated HT's. I paid $2500 for my front 3 speakers and they do look amazing. He paid $500 for his 3 speakers used. Basically I would say if your going with the rf82s then you can safely get an rc62 and be super happy. If I could trade my set up for his and have the $2000 price difference in my pocket I would do it in a heart beat. Don't get me wrong... I do like the looks of the rf7's better and I do feel like they are a better speaker. But honestly the difference in sound does not add up to the difference in price. One thing I can say is that I will never have to upgrade from the rf7ii's....
That don't say much for the new 7's, my 7 's and the 82ll's I sold are not even comparable in any way.I think the room makes more difference than your speakets in this case.If you bought my 7 's and gave me 82's as my only speaker I would not do the deal. The 82's are good speakers but they aren't comparable to 1st Gen 7 's, I have not had ll's in my house as the grill stopped my further consideration.
The 708 for $350 is a good deal and a good match for the Icon or 82.I also agree the 62 will do a very nice job.I bought my 82ll's online delivered for away less that $800, patience and a good sale. And RB 61's for 400 is out of the ?
Are you saying that RB61 pair for 400 is a bad deal? I found them here for that price...
