  1. That's excetly what I told the newegg guy I spoke with that they really need to double box that beast. He told me they've been getting allot of these received damaged and claims. I agree they should put a note on the box, "If you're gonna kick it kick here". That's exactly what it looked like. UPS must toss boxes around on those conveyors like bagage claim at the airport. I had my share of problems with my own shippment out with UPS. Claim is in final stages and should ship within the next 24hrs so here's to keeping fingers crossed this time out.
  2. Finally got in touch with newegg and they're going to take care of it and ship a replacement.
  3. Well originally I missed the Black friday deal newegg was offering and then to my surprise they offered a coupon code days later for the same price...I bit. It arrived and now I have a bigger problem. UPS dropped it on my porch and first site of the box I said, "Crap". The side had been punched in. Upon opening the top as luck would have it the damage was on the grill side and sure enough the grill was broken in a number of spots from the impact. One foot peg was also broken off...wtf. I've been trying for two days to reach newegg and not having good luck. I did hook it up to test and the woofer is completely unharmed and sounds solid. Was a decent upgrade and can overpower the rest of the system so I had some tweaking to do to get things to my liking. Vibrates the heck out of my couch at high levels but once dialed in I didn't believe it much of an upgrade over the NHT but at high levels it's incredible but very unbalanced and localized, I hate pinpointing wher the bass is coming from. I placed the sub up front this time next to my stand in hopes when the wife got home from work she'd not freak...I got lucky...lol. The MACC setup on my Elite sc-35 lowers the thing so it's barely heard but I tweaked it just a touch. Anyone want a real good condition NHT SW2P 10" sub & mono amp? lol.
  4. I had edited my initial post. I had thought it was an SW1 and went over to ebay hunting to see what these sell for in the event I opt for that Klipsch rw-12d and want to sell the NHT. Once I saw specs and pics I said, "Damn that's not it". I had to go over and look at the model I have and it's the SW2. Then those NHT numbers got goofy with respect to sub only, amp only, and combo(i,p, & s in model number). I sorted it out and my latest edit is right for what I have...sorry about that and something tells me it may not change your opinion much if at all? The NHT SW2 went up to a 10" woofer. Plus the amp is either 80 or 90watt so a bit up on the SW1 if it's rated at 60...different sites stated it different when I was looking up specs. The SW3 jumped to an SA-3 amp at 250 watts I found out...to bad. Honestly I didn't even know NHT went out of business...bummer hearing that as I have really liked this sub but with this setup it just isn't cutting it. Went very well with my older Polk Audio's. Interesting turning the sub idea. Got to try that.
  5. Not sure if I've ever been overly fond of my NHT SW1P sub with my setup and feel I've contemplated this possible upgrade long enough. I'm sure people have already seen the newegg deal on the Klipsch RW-12d and I think this would be a better choice for my setup than the NHT was, it was rather a carry over from my last setup and I just used it. Here's what I'm running currently. Pioneer Elite vsx-49tx (being replaced with an SC-35 I got a deal on from a buddy) Klipsch KLF-20's KLF-C7 B&W V201's (tossing these for used set of RS-3's) NHT SW2Pi Just replaced 61" 1080p DLP TV for Samsung LED UN60D8000...nice just trying to get use to the overly clear picture making me feel like I'm watching a soap opera. Still playing with setting but they sure do preset these things brighter than hell! I just never felt strong bass from this sub with this setup and prob underpowered for the rest of the system. I've done all the tinkering I could with speaker setup, the large/small setting, crossover. Ideally I want to move the sub but the wife freaks whenever I mention where I want it. Right now it's in a corner pointed toward the middle of the room, not ideal but less wife complaints and that can make me happy some times as well :-) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
