  1. The reason I have the RB61s as the sides is because I have protruding columns on both sides of the walls (rectangular shape room 25 x 15). So my thinking was if I mounted a pair of the wide dispersion on the sides, it wouldn't sound right because the sound would be deflected from the protruding column. Also, moving the bookshelves to the rears isn't a viable option because of the size.
  2. I currently have RF62 II as my fronts, RB61 II, as my sides, RC62 II as my center. I am looking to add rear surrounds to complete a 7.1 setup. I am looking at getting a pair of the RP-240S. Since my set up has 6 IN woofers all around, would the RP-240S be underwhelming with their 4in woofers? My seating area would be a little over 6ft from the placements of the rear surrounds. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I was thinking about getting a pair of the RP-160M but have a question about the center. Would it be an overkill if I would get the RP-440C/RP-450C instead of the RP-250C when paired with the RP-160Ms? Even though I don't post much, I read and learn a lot from everyone's comments!
  4. @StephenM: If I place the sub near either the F/L or F/R speaker, my distance will be between 8 to 9 ft. The room size is 12x14. The loudness depends, with movies and video games, I like it medium volume to loud, music really doesn't matter. Thanks for the input! @liebherr954: How does the RB 81 sound as a HTS? I was seriously thinking about getting the RB-81 II HTS system but someone seems to bring it up that I would want to upgrade to floor standing speakers after awhile. I think I am sold on the PC12-NSD. Nothing but great reviews about that sub. Thanks for the confidence booster. @blowndc: I try researching what's a small/medium/large room and I get so many different opinionated answers. I think I have a medium size room but not sure. Thanks for your feedback though.
  5. Just a quick question about a SVS sub. On their website they give advice on choosing the right sub for your system. They have a whole listing of several different manufactures and models of speakers to chose from. When I select the RF-82 II floor standing speakers and the RB-81 II bookshelf speakers, they suggested the PC12-PLUS which retails for a whopping $1299. This is too steep for my pocket and was looking at the PC12-NSD instead. Will the PC12-NSD do my very near future system justice? Any input would greatly be appreciated.
  6. @ Schwa Man. I am learning something new everyday. I have never heard of the company "SVS", had to look them up. Thanks for the post! @Youthman Nice pics of your HT room! I am definitively getting a sub now but should I chose the recommended SW-115 or is it just personal preference? I seen you and Schwa have different manufactures for your set up.
  7. My basement is roughly 32 x 17 right now. We are in the early stages of looking to buy a house but I don't know the min/max dimension of a room for a system of this caliber so any info on that would be great. The primary use would be for movies and video games. The one thing that I didn't notice was that even though the pic of the RF-82 HTS didn't show a sub, it did list the SW-115 in the description area. Thanks again for the great feedback, Klipsch forums rock!
  8. Hello Everyone, I don't know if this is a ritual but this is "my 1st post". Anyhow, I was comparing the RF-82 II and the RB-82 II home theater systems and I noticed the RF-82s were priced cheaper because they lacked a subwoofer. My question is, do the RF-82s hit low enough to the point that a sub is not necessary? I am looking into purchasing a nice HTS and piecing it together slowly but surely. Thanks for helping out a "newbie"!
