  1. Hey guys, Hereby my settings for my sub amp. the KA-1000 THX amplifier. Phase = 0° Boundary Gain Compansation = OFF THX = OFF LOWPASS CROSSOVER = 120 HZ LEVEL = A bit more then half Does it mean anything to someone ? I have totally no idea what to do with the phase, the boundary compansation and the crossover.
  2. These are no B&W photos. It looks like it, but its not. But I used 3 main colors and they are giving a black-white feel to it. - Black for the ceilings - light-grey for the carpet on the floor - grey (antracite) for the walls. (it has a slight warm brown tint in it)
  3. Hey guys, Last week the carpet has been placed to the walls, so my HT is almost fully finished. After it was finished I immediately have run the Anthem Room Corrrection Software with a mic for the 8 seating spots on my receiver Anthem MRX-700. Hereby an update with the latest pictures of the HT and the corrections. [] The corrections : Red = Measured Blue = Target Green = Corrected
  4. What you mean ? How long the build of the HT took ? Roughly about 3-4 months, but they haven't been working constantly. I haven't done anything myself ... except taking pictures. []
  5. Yes, I have the 2x KW-120 Subs. It is the complete Klipsch THX 7.2 set For extra punch I also have a buttkicker installed in every chair. []
  6. Hi Glenn, Thanks for the kind words. The theater dimensions are around : 7m (L) x 5m (W)
  7. This week, the walls will be treated. Carpet will be placed on it, so then it is finished for 99% [] So far, I have been watching lots of movies and my impression on the soundsystem .... : ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !! Really. It was a great choice going for the Klipsch THX set. I do however didn't had or listened to another set to compare it to but I have no regrets about it. It's just perfect and if I had to start all over, I would go for the THX set again without hesitation. :[D]
  8. Hahaha ... [] Cool ! I started out with a D90 and I have learnt photography with it. As a hobbyist a D90 is great, but it is a cropped sensor. If you want to step up a bit you can go for a D700. A nice full frame camera and great quality. I love it. I have 2 of them now, but I will be upgrading shortly. I'm getting a D4. That's one hell of a camera. Really impressive quality even in low light.
  9. Thanks. [] Yeah, I'm really happy with the result so far but I still need to put some carpet on the walls and some lights in the stairs It could be a selling point yes, but I don't know if there are a lot of people who are willing to sacrifice a quite big space just for watching movies. [] And I'm happy that my wife still supported me because she has a small storage room in the basement for her and I took up all the other rooms. hehe Next to the HT I also have a photo studio and music studio. Here are some pictures : the hallway
  10. Hey guys, Hereby a new photo update. The HT is not yet finished but we are getting there and I already watched some movies the last few weeks ... A LOT ! [] And I just love it.
  11. I have an Anthem MRX 700 receiver which is not a THX receiver. So then it's better for me not to set it to THX. Thanks for the explanation of the settings. []
  12. Thanks Tegal3 for your setting. Any reason why you set the THX to off, while it is a THX set.
  13. Yesterday was the big day ! I have watched my first movie in my HT. The HT is not fully finished yet. I have to add some details, like putting in the lights etc, but I'm able to watch a movie. So it was also yesterday I first heard my speakers. WOW ! Really amazing ! I just love them. The only thing that is not so good is that I think I have 1 broken speaker. The right back surround (KL-525) has only high sounds, but no low or bass sounds. Could it be the wiring ? And 1 more thing I still haven't figured it out. How do I set my Subwoofer amp ? what is the best way to start off with the right settings ? With THX or not ? Boundarie gain compensation ? crossover etc. So if someone can help me out with it, that would be great. Greetz, Bart
  14. Hehe ... no drilling was necessary ... thank god ! I have a ceiling with acoustic tiles. So it is quite easy to install them, you just can push it through the tiles. Afterwards you just have to push the fibers back untill they are all on the same level als the tiles. So it's easy, but it's just a lot of work doing every star one by one.
  15. A Klipsch question. [] I'm about to connect my Klipsch setup this week, so I was reading in the manual for the connections. I have 1 interlink cable to connect my receiver to my Klipsch Subwoofer amp. In the subwoofer amp manual they say you can connect 1 cable or you can split it and connect 2 cables. What's the purpose or difference and what do I have to do ? I have an Anthem MRX-700 receiver. That has DTS modes etc, but no specific THX modes like some other receivers do have. What do I have to do with the sub amp ? Put it on THX or not ?
  16. Hi W.C. No, I found it via a UK Ebay shop. but it really looks kind of similar of the ones you are showing, but I had an 800 fiber star field in 3 different sizes. A lot of work, but I'm really happy with the result.
  17. No planned date yet, but always welcome. [] The popcorn is warming up ! []
  18. After 2 days of star placement, at last a finished star ceiling [H]
  19. The stage in the front has now being built with the construction of the screen frame : Installation of the star fibres :
  20. Because I just built the house and moved in, I had to buy everything new for a dedicated HT room and haven't tested it yet, so I don't know how everything will sound like. Everything is still boxed except for the seats. The receiver that I bought is the Anthem MRX-700 (I've heard that it should be good) The bluray player is the Oppo BD-93 The projector is the Sony HW 95ES 2 LFE Buttkickers and seperate Buttkicker amp 8 Theater seats I'll just wait and see if Amy gets back with my post. If not, I can try to post them in seperate posts, but it would be nicer and easier to have them all in one post. Thanks for the help to host them, but I have them on my own hosting server, so that is no problem. Or if you are that excited to see the pics, then we can try to hold that excitement by just putting a picture a day online. [] hehe Here is the start picture :
  21. @Tmassey : Yes, the THX set is kinda pricey but aren't there a lot of people that are having the RF-7 ? That's way more pricey right ? I do like the looks of the THX set and in my HT the only speakers that will be visible are going to be the surrounds and the backs. The fronts, center and subs will be covered away behind the screen wall. At first I was about to buy the Focal Chorus speakers, but I read in most reviews that the THX set will give a lot more cinema feeling, but the down side is that they are not that good for just music listening. But I will let you know my experience once I have them setup and tested. [] I have a strong feeling that I will be more happy that I went for the THX instead of the Focals. @Tegal3 : Yes, my god. Those KL-525 are really big. I thought those were some small speakers for in the back, but they are even bigger (in depth) then the KL-650. [] I saw the pictures of your HT. Really nice ! Love it ! [H] I don't understand why you didn't install those KL-525 because I see plenty of room behind your sofa ? But the dimension of a picture can be misleading. @youthman : That would be great if you send an e-mail to Amy. I've put a lot of pictures in 1 post. (maybe 15-20 I think). It's my built from an empty room untill now. []
  22. Just another question. I'm new on this forum, but I just posted my whole built. It's about 14 pictures or something like that and when I hit post, I received a message that the message needed to be checked by a moderator. Why is that ? Because I put some pictures or links in it ?
  23. Any idea why you don't see that many reviews on it ? Not good ? Of all the reviews that I have seen, everybody was really happy about it and they all like the system a lot.
  24. Hey Tmassey, I checked out the Omnimount 60.0 ST-MP. That would be perfect for it, but I can't find them anywhere and I receive a message that they are discontinued. So, I have to look for something else. Anyway, if people like build pictures ? Here are the picture of my HT build in progress : http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag6.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag6_a.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag7.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag7_1.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag7_2.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag10.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag10_a.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag11_1.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag11_2.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag13.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag15_1.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag15_2.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag16_3.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag16_4.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag17.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag18_1.jpg http://www.motionpictures.be/huis/cinema/bouw/dag18_2.jpg
  25. Hey guys, I recently purchased the Klipsch THX 7.2 system. [] It's now still in boxes for more then a month, but the construction of our dedicated HT room hasn't been finished yet. It's hard having those speakers in boxes at home and not able to listen to it. But I hope to have the room finished in about 3-4 weeks. Looking forward to it. Just one question : I have the KL-525 to put them to the wall in the back, but what kind of wall mount are you using for them ?
