  1. It will fit :-p I got Monster XP speaker wire to fit in the radio shack gold plated mini jacks... its was a squeeze and a half, which took around 10 mins for each one, but if finally went through :-) -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG~
  2. I didn't think I would be doing this but they sound like crap. I have had them for a total of 33 days. What I ended up doing was getting the 5.1's on tuesday, and like these a lot better. Plus they don't use those stupid mini jack connectors, they use regular speaker connectors. And the plugs that they give you are gold plated... :-) My 4.1's sounded really nice at the begining, then I started to hear some crackling, distortion... and then just utter garbage. I just find it a little sad that the 4.1's that are going back tomorrow at work, were only 33 days old. I didn't even play them hard at all. Infact I never turned the bass up more than 1/4 of the way, and same with the suround and main volume. Someone needs to do alittle R&D and make these a little better quality for the money... Just my .02 cents Love the 5.1's though :-) They just better last longer than 33 days... -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG~ This message has been edited by NewShockerGuy on 01-27-2002 at 03:37 AM
  3. How does your sub have an on/off switch? My 4.1's don't have that... kinda wish they did :-( I was under the impression only the 2.1's had the on/off switch on the back of the sub...? Thanks, -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG~
  4. I did the same thing... the gold plated connectors are a much tighter fit :-) Sorry for the picture quality being so crappy. I used my spare spool of Monster XP speaker wire, and just got the gold plugs at Radio Shack :-) -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG~ This message has been edited by NewShockerGuy on 01-14-2002 at 04:07 PM
  5. Jake, Sorry to hear that.. that's very odd. I could understand if you dropped the camera or something like that, but if it just doesn't access the disk that's not your fault... talk to the manager or even the GM of the store.. But I would definatly look more into that, because that is the purpose of the 4 year psp... covers basiclly everything but abuse.. On a plus note, I just upgrade my wiring to my Klipsch's 4.1's to the gold mini jacks and used my spare spool of monster speaker wire... I think it's a lot better now.. NOMORE crackling if you jiggle the damn little mini jack on the back of the speaker :-) I'll get pics up as soon as I get my webcam tomorrow :-) -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG~
  6. That article was great! And pretty easy to, I am going to go to radio shack tomorrow and pick up the mini jacks and try this out :-) I already got the monster speaker wire and the soldering stuff. -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG~
  7. I have just a quick question. I keep seeing is "SO and SO" an authorized dealer for the promedias..etc.. Is this person a authorized dealer..etc. My question is if they are not a authorized dealer for the speaker why and how are they getting them? That makes no sense to me as a consumer if people/the company won't fix your speaker because where they got them from was not an authorized dealer... Again HOW did the company get them? Thanks :-) -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG~
  8. They might...Do you work at BB or just know someone that got them for you at that price? But as far as crackling, blowing out, dust, humidity, moisture, heat, surges, normal wear and tear/every day usage..etc.. those all apply with the 4 year PSP. -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG~
  9. Not to be rude.. but if you just got your speakers why contact Klipsch? Just take them back to where ever you got them and get new ones. Most places have a 30 day return policy. That might be better, plus you wouldn't have to pay for shipping. -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG~
  10. Nope mine isn't worn at all. I would say that isn't normal. Maybe someone purchased them before, used them for a couple days, then brought it back? Where did you get yours from? -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG~
  11. Welp, I bought them yesterday morning... Didn't get to set them up till RIGHT before work today and still didn't get to turn them on, (at around 6pm) Then didn't get home till about 11pm.. Well you could say I was dying to hook them up. So far I love them.. they are the loudest things I have heard in my life. I can't even turn the volume knob up 2cm without getting blow away. If you looked at the volume switch you would think it was actually turned down all the way..lol I work at Best Buy so I got them at a pretty decent price in my opinion and I got our 4 year performance plan.. so if anything does go wrong in 4 years, I will just take them back and get new ones :-) I had Boston Acustic Digit speakers and thought those were loud...haha I just wanted to say thanks for answering all my questions on here :-) My ONLY complaint is these stupid *** mini plugs going into each speaker... WHY couldn't they just be regular speaker jacks like on the sub? They are really touchy too, so if you jiggle the mini plug they kinda of crackle.. but as long as you don't move them once you have them set they rock :-) What's funny is I almost didn't buy them because our floor models suck wang.. litterly, you have the volume turned up and they aren't loud, you have the bass turned up all the way, and you hardly hear anything..etc.. PLUS I touched the sub right in the back and it burnt my index finger... They are around 2 years old though and the floor model, so everyone does beat them to hell unfortantly. But so far my sub isn't hot at all :-) So far so good :-) Props to ya guys at Klipsh... just change the darn mini jacks..yuck ~ -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG This message has been edited by NewShockerGuy on 12-24-2001 at 05:53 AM
  12. Thanks guys for the replies :-) Sorry I didn't reply sooner.. I keep having less and less time to get on here. I will pick them up though, I at least have that part done... just gotta figure out a good sound card to go with it :-p But I will let you know how they are when I get everything completed. Thanks again, -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG~
  13. Hi, I new here and just like to say hello :-) I work at Best Buy where I live and am going to build a computer in less than a month. I noticed that we have these Klipch 4.1 400watt speakers. They seem very nice to me, and I was just wondering if they are worth getting. I have browsed the boards here and noticed that alot of people seem to be getting bad speakers, and had to have the replaced many times... Is this a normal thing with the 4.1 system? I currently have Boston Acoustics Digital Media Theater on my computer now and love them. I was just wondering how these will compare if I get them. *Also I was going to get a SB live card with the front bay (has the opticals and s-videos, mic, headphone jacks) if that matters? This will be the first comp. I have ever built, so I would like it to be nice. Any feed back would be great :-) Thanks, -Nigel ------------------ ~NSG~
