  1. I am adding a reveresable motor and switch to my new VPI 16.5 record cleaning machine. Most all agree it is important to clean in both directions. I am thinking about offering a kit to acomplish this, it would include a new motor with warranty, reversing switch to replace existing turntable switch, new motor mounting bracket, allen wrench, wiring and detailed instructions. The cost would be about $160-$175. Just want to see what you guys think, is there any interest?

  2. Does anyone see where this is going? If this kind of crap continues how do you think KLIPSCH will respond? Do you think they might suspend this forum? I for one don't want that to happen, but will be surprised if they don't! Come on guys just try to get along so we don't loose this great forum.

  3. Actually I cancelled my order with "Galen Carol Audio", (the $425 did not include shipping) because they were out of stock for a couple weeks, but bought one from "Audio Advisor" for $426.00 including shipping. Talk to Chris and ask for that price including shipping, which is less than their normal price. I ordered Monday and received it today(wed.)

  4. jazman,

Why are you so obsessed with the fact that Craig has not been doing this for long? I, on the other hand, am more impressed by the fact he has learned so much in such a short time! That speaks volumes about his ability to comprehend this stuff. Craig helped me trouble shoot a problem with my MK-III I had been working on all day in just a few min on the phone, and NO he didn't ask for anything in return. Your badgering him is getting old! Get over your jealousy of him, it makes you look so childish!

  5. Mark or Craig,

Explain what the below means and how to change it. I now have scope & function gen. I want to test my newly rebuilt MK-IIs. Also how do you set bais for class "A" or more toward that using the scope? My amps are wired in triode with K-88s and Triode(Brand) driver board with AC balance.

"Although these have been tuned for a pretty narrow band top end (very smooth rounded leading edge at 20KHz) I like my MKIIIs tuned much "hotter" at the top. I try to get the full-power band out to 30KHz which will be reflected by a steeper leading edge with just a tiny overshoot, no ringing.

    It's always a compromise."

  6. I spoke to Craig Sunday by phone and Email yesterday. I must say I was strugling with a MK-III rebuild that had high voltage readings on the driver board and no output at all. Within 10 min on the phone with Craig he discovered the problem which was fixed in another five. The amp sounds great, so now on to the second one. Craig thanks for the great help, you rock.
