I heard a couple rumors that the ProMedia 2.1 has a different amp / better midrange. So the v.2-400 would actually be better? Interesting.

For a while now, I've been hunting a good used ProMedia 2.1. Deal just popped up, local, for a ProMedia v.2-400 system, $50. This is about half of what I'd end up getting a used ProMedia 2.1 for, since there's no shipping either. I have no use for the extra two speakers -- they'd be used as potential replacements should one die -- so my question is, would this setup work in 2.1 configuration?
