  1. haha... yeah that is his cute look. that tends to come out after they've been bad. that's not the one who tore the heck out of my sub though... Zane is the foam tearing animal. I went to Home Depot today and bought some mesh fence material. It's 1/2" x 1/2". As crazy as it sounds, I hot glued it over the port in the back, and for the speaker, I created a box type design. I used hot glue because it is easily removed and will not damage the material. So far so good. Speaker is fully intact and no furballs have ventured in the enclosure. 3. I've posted on here before about my ferrets having their way with my sub. They've crawled inside and tore up the foam... poked holes in the driver. I have a new KSW12 sub and want to protect it somehow. Right now, I just disconnect the thing and move it to my dinning room table for protection. But, could I get some type of screen to protect the sub/port? How would this effect the sound?
  4. quote: or may have to turn down the output some - the sub should be within about 5db higher or same as your other speaks level Doesn't the Specs for Digital 5.1 or DTS call for the Sub to be at 85dB? Not 5dB higher?
  5. Hello - My KSW12 has developed a small hole in the speaker surround. Thanks are given to a wonderful cat. Its one small pin hole. It sounds fine, just wondering if it will mess up in the future, or if there is anything I can do to fix it... short of replacing the speaker. Brian
  6. Thanks for all the suggestions. My ferrets would love to have that as their toy. After I fix it, I'll have to figure out a way to keep them out. Brian.
  7. I have a KSW12 and one of my ferrets poked holes in the speaker surround. It still sounds find but I would like to know if I can buy a new speaker for it. And Klipsch is closed today. Brian.
  8. Thanks for the help. I'm sure I'll need to experiment with the angles some more. They are sounding pretty good right now. I have my sub sitting in the corner for right now. The bass is much louder when I'm in the other room, so I think I'll need to move it around a bit. I think the KSW 12 sounds great with the Quintets. A friend tried to talk me in to the 15, but I think that might have ben too much. Brian
  9. Hello, I'm new to this and could use some help. I bought some Quintets with a KSW 12, Yamaha HTR-5450 and a Mitsu WS 55809 TV. The TV and Yamaha were straight forward in installation, but I am trying to figure out how to aim the speakers to the optimal position. Also, does it really matter where I put the sub? The room is fairly small, it's about 12 x 12. Any help would be appreciated. Brian
