I've heard somewhere that you can couple a 2 channel integrated amp (such as the Yamaha AX596) with a surround reciever (like the Yamaha HTR-5280) to form the 6.1 channel format with AX596 powering your front 2 channels and the HTR5280 powering your other 5 speakers. is this true?

hey folks, just bought a pair of RF3 and a Yamaha TX596 integrated stereo amp for my music listening pleasure, over a month ago. now i am thinking of upgrading my stereo system to a home theater system and was thinking of trading in my TX596 for the HTR5280 to power my speakers. if you've experienced with the HTR5280 (or similar reciever), i welcomed your feedback/opinions. thanks
