  3. Happy Holidays To All !!!!!!!! I live in the Chicagoland area . Today I aquired a Moscode 600 amp that has a substantial ( loud) humm to it when I hooked it up. Can anyone refer me to someone in the area that is good and reasonably priced??? Thanks Joe, By the way, pics of the new La Scalas ( late eighties ) will be posted tomorrow. Merry Christmas. !!!!!!!!!
  4. Good day , and Happy Holidays to all !!! I will be bringing home my new set of Natural birch La Scalas on the 15th of Dec. ,. They are like new, no dents or nicks, I am very happy. My question to any of the gurus around here is how to clean them up properly ? They have what appears to be some very slight darkening on the tops towards the fronts, as if oil from human hands. They are from the late 80's , original boxes etc. They are in my opinion in excellent + plus condition. I dont feel they need to be sanded, Any direction would be appreciated.
  5. Good day to all !!! Does anyone have a 9090 hooked up to a pair of La Scala's ??? I love all types of music, I am going on Saturday to check out a pair of La Scalas from an older gentleman, original boxes, etc. I have always wanted a pair cause theyre just so damn cool. Can I crank em up hard for some WHO ????
  6. I'm a newbie, I hurt my KG4's the other night, I have been studying up and I guess some of them had a " Polyswitch" to protect against overload, What does this look like????? Thanks for any and all replies ( Gonna get me some of those La Scalas !!! )
  7. Thanks Everybody for imput, appreciate it. I had no idea how involved this hobby could truly be. Back to basics, hooked Godzilla to an old pair of advent speakers I had in the basement, the 9090 is fine,. It, I damaged the KG4s, the sound is lacking oomph, a bit muddy. Both of the KG4s sound the same. Do crossover boards fry ???? How do I locate the problem ( blown tweeter, blown board?? ). Again thanks to everybody for help. I think I need bigger Klipsch speakers.
  8. Thanks for any info anyone may be able to share. I purchased an old Sansui 9090db receiver in pristine condition, Last week I purchased a very mint set of Klipsch KG 4's . This afternoon, while listening to Quadraphenia , the sound became dull sounding, I dont know if its the reciver or the speakers, there still seems to be alot of bass, no midrange, and garbled high end. Where do I start to hunt down the problem??? Yes the windows were rattling. I love these old Klipsch speakers, cant wait to get into a set of La Scalas...........
