  1. hey wuzzer...one more thing...subsequent to your post i've found others with other people having the same problem with the sub 10 and sub 12 that have all been traced to manufacturing issues with the amplifiers which, from what i can tell from the forum posts, Klipsch is aware of but has not done anything about other than fix/replace the offending units.
  2. wuzzer...thanks for the quick response. no, the blue light comes on when the receiver is turned on indicating that the sub is waking up and is receiving signal. it's just that there is nothing sound wise coming out...i've experimented with crossover/high gain and still nothing. and i am assuming the cable is ok...i've checked both ends of the connection (monster cable, monster splitter at the sub to the rca inputs) and it worked fine for months...simply stopped working. i would assume user error normally, but i've rechecked all connections and the light does cycle from red to blue when i turn on my reciever so i have to have it hooked up correctly. if the fuse was blown, would it still show receiving a signal or would it not power up? the fuse doesn't look blown but it may be cooked underneath the caps where I can't see. just ordered some ceramic fuses which are supposed to be better anyway for high vibration applications...but I would think that if it was a fuse, the sub wouldn't even power up. similar problem with my sub 10...talked with klipsch technical support and they said that the inboard amp might have a short in it. it would work if i would unplug and plug back in. with the sub 12, it doesn't even do that. it's just...dead. I have Klipsch fronts, a Klipsch center, Klipsch surrounds and Klipsch outdoor speakers. LOVE all of them. But I've had nothing but problems now with two powered subs. thanks again.
  3. Had a Sub 10 that I had to unplug and re-plug in every time I had to use it. Would be receiving a signal according to the light, but no sound. Replaced it a year ago with a Sub 12 (it's still under mfg. warrantee...I'm just tired of dicking with it) and the same problem is now happening, except that when I unplug and replug in, it won't start working. The blue light is lit, but no sound. I have a Denon surround receiver and when I run the test signal, it's showing no subwoofer. All settings are correct...receiver is set for subwoofer:yes, crossover frequency is set at 80, i've got the gain about halfway up on the sub, the crossover frequency set at 80 (thought changing it doesn't effect the signal, I tried). I also checked the fuse. It's fine. I'm thinking that these are just dog subs. I'm all for getting it repaired/replaced under my 5 year mfg warrantee (2 year products with onboard amps), but I just don't know if I still want the crappy thing. Any thoughts? I considered that the monster cable or connectors might be bad, but with it on auto, when I turn on the stereo, the sub picks up the signal. Thanks.
