  1. We are going with 2 rows of seats. Either row of 3 or row of 4 seats. Of course, we want to max out on the screen because L,R,C, and some subwoofers will be behind the screen. If I have room in the budget for more subwoofers, they will go on both side of the wall. Surrounds will be mounted on the wall and ceiling.

  2. More subs = wife will say I need to have my hearing check, father in law will bring his subs and add to whatever else that will go in, and won't go back home.:D

I think the hole is getting deeper by the post...no turning back now.

  3. I am a big fan of more subwoofers. I want strong, not loud. Too many stuffs to buy so might not be able to start with more than 4. I am sure I can always add more down the road. We will be working on the interior design when we get a little closer to framing the house. Definitely no bare concrete floor and wall. It needs to look like a theater, not jail.:D

  4. I was using:

    L & R - Klipsch Frankenstein RF7  + JBL 2045 + JBL 076 + Lansing 077

    Sub - RSW-15

    Center - Klipsch Frankenstein C7 + JBL 076 + B&W CC6

    Rear - couldn't remember what I had

Sub, L, and R were driven by SAE P500 amp

Center was driven by JBL 6290 amp

Rears were driven by JBL 6260 amp

I plan to use the above sub, L, and R for music only because I am extremely please with the sound. I want to start fresh with the theater; speakers and electronic. My knowledge is very limited and I am still trying to figure things out. Youthman's setup looks pretty awesome. So I figure that is a good starting point.

  5. The birth of an unexpected under ground theater. The dedicated theater will be approximately 16' x 22' x 9'. I have not decided on the equipment just yet. At this point, I am using Youthman's theater as a model, but definitely not with 4 subs.

  6. I will keep reading this forum and draw on
others’ experience before making any move.
It took me a long time to save up for this project and doing it right is
a must. After I pulled the trigger, it
will be many more years before I can upgrade.
My kids will be going to college in a couple years and I know the old
man (that’s me by the way) will have to help out with the tuitions. Thank you once again for so many great
    suggestions.

My homework assignment for the next couple weeks is to visit a few shops and check out what they have in their showrooms.

  7. I am looking into a surround sound system that can
double as home audio system. The only
two items I already have are TV and Blu-Ray player. I am thinking of 2 RF-62 II floorstanding
speakers, 1 RC-62 center channel speaker, 2 RS-52 II surround speakers, and 1
SW-112 subwoofer. I have a max budget of
$4,500. Please help point me in the
    right direction. Thanks.
