  1. Happy anniversary Chuck!  Mesquite grilled ribeyes sound tasty.  Wish I was closer I would crash the party  but I know you love birds want to be alone :emotion-25:

As far as exciting post....that has never stopped me :)   I post about the following most every post.  LF, Jake, bike, yard work, martinis and occasionally coffee and cables.

    Christy and Elden.......where you is?

    Cheers Ladies :emotion-44: and Gents

Heck, Baxter is here and I've got a buddy dropping by. Wish you did live closer! Baxter thinks Jake sounds like a nice guy he might play with  but would like to know his musical tastes first. . :D  Have a great rest of your Sunday.

  2. Happy Sunday guys. Wish I had something 'citing to report but, alas, it's yardwork folowed up by mesquite grilled ribeyes for our anniversary. Good stuff.

Did get the Cornwalls crankin' yesterday with some nostalgic good music by Gram Parsons and Gene Clark. Never gets dated, imo.

Have a great day and cheers!!

do you ever get used to the humidity?

It keeps your pores clean for sure.

I've lived here for 35 years and it just seems normal to me.  When I lived in upstate NY the cold seemed normal.  Your body goes through an adjustment period and you get to the point where you don't think about it.

I guess one gets used to it, but I'll tell ya that I had no problem adjusting to either altitude or dryness in Colorado when I came here many moons ago. After all these years, I find it stifling and hard to breath in a really humid climate any more and I've lived in both the South and Midwest. I love those parts of the country but try not to go in the summer.

  4. The problem, imo, is radical Islamic ideology inspired or directed from abroad which is hell bent on destroying Western civilization and an abject failure by American leadership to identify and treat it as such. Is the issue cultural or religious as well? Sure it is, but that description just doesn't go far enough in accurately describing what is going on.

Yep Steve glad you got things squared away.  Me and dtel had discussed fixin it for you in April at the shindig but Elden lost his vice grips and the power pack for my cordless drill burned up

    what you offering for anesthesia?

dtel was thinking a quart bottle of Mogen David might work.

Don't forget the dental chain saw, 'cept I hear that patients start getting nervous if the doc has to pull the rope more than a couple of times.

  6. Mornin' all. Sunny day here and plan to work on our roses.

Steve .. good to hear you're on the mend. Paying for dental insurance is a ***** and the coverage is usually about half the fee, but it's been worth it the past few years. Aside from my regular dentist's substantial bills, I've had to use a specialist twice and was well rewarded for paying the premiums.

    Happy Tuesday guys.

  7. Happy Monday, all. Erand running and tending the roses top the list today. Also need to get some tunes going again ... when I'm playing a lot of music I tend to not listen much and that's been the case lately.

Speaking of BBQ (huh?) we smoked a big batch of chicken thighs with pecan wood yesterday afternoon. All indirect heat. Really good stuff ... may want to try it if you haven't.

    As always, cheers!

  8. Mornin' guys. 2d cup on the way. Not a lot to report, just catching up on yard projects. Wound up with 5 contractor bags jammed with yard waste yesterday. Gotta get caught up after all the rain and then travel.

Steve .. hope you're feeling better. So far dental pain is the only pain resulting in my taking pain meds. Take care.

    Later guys and cheers...............

  9. Mornin' guys. Will be on the road this weekend starting this evening but will try to check in when/if I can.

Gary, thanks for the great pictures and narrative. Keep 'em coming. We had the privilege of listening to an organist rehearsing when we were in Germany and it was a real kick. You get to do that regularly! Cool stuff.

Everybody have be well and have a fun, safe 4th. Cheers, of course.....

  10. Happy Wednesday folks. Getting ready for a long weekend trip to a conference. My lady took off work today to take care of essential trip preps like a hair appointment.

Hey Chuck .... did you check with Jake on the bird rescue? Lots of rescue folks wind up taking in the rescued animals. Careful .....

Try to check back later. Cheers and have a great day.

  11. I have never said to anyone (or even THOUGHT) 'Man, I need a toe job!' On the other hand, a hot rodded Marantz sounds excellent.

This has been a true PITA morning exploring options for supplemental health insurance. Ahhh ..... the 'golden years.......

Have an excellent day guys and cheers!

  12. Signs of the times it seems. Went to my last - and I mean last Willie Nelson concert at Red Rocks 10 or so years ago. Many sloppy drunk kids standing on seats blocking everyone's view, screaming, falling down, refusing requests to stop blocking others, etc. Trying to be 'outlaws' like Willie I guess. Never again.

  13. Mornin' guys and Happy Monday. Just getting caught up. Good day yesterday ... mostly in the yard and then hickory smoking ribs for us and a guest.

Gary .. that rig looks great! Would love to hear (play) it. Good to hear that Hammond USA got it right. I love my old Leslie but I'll bet the newer stuff will sound just as good and be more reliable long term. Have fun!!

Man, I have nothing to add to the goat story. The only word that comes to mind is 'cabrito' (spelling?) but is probable inapporpriate so I won't mention it! Have a good day and cheers.

  14. Don't blame you for wanting to start on the cheap but if you get a chance audition the Vincent line of hybrids. Tubes in the pre and SS in the output. Think they offer both integrateds and separates. Not cheap but not outrageous either and very nice.

  15. Happy Friday folks. Not a lot to report .. just some yardwork and working on health ins. changes coming up soon. Boring, huh?

Gary .. congrats on the show and thanks for more great pics. Keep em coming. My performances and collaborations with other musicians are usually limited to someone's living or family room!!

Mark .. careful with spider bites. Have heard some horrifying stories. Good to hear you're ok.

    Cheers, guys.

  16. Busy morning guys. (Yeah, it's still morning here by a few minutes). Monthly cleaning crew plus carpet guys putting down new pad in finished basement. Had some rain water come in when we were out of town and had hellacious storms. Our painter friend was here and saved our butts by pulling up carpet, getting rid of wet pad and drying the carpet. Still getting some afternon storms.

  17. Afternoon folks. Missed ya this a.m.

MKP .. I agree with Mark. Find a lawyer and I'd suggest one who works in both the criminal and family law areas or is part of a firm with both specialties.  Check for references and Martindale Hubble ratings. This country is turning into an authoritarian police state at an alarming rate the past few years. Keep us informed, ok? Bless you and your family.
