  1. So I've been trying to sell these big speakers.

I bought these - see this post by nico boom.

I have a post in this thread when I bought mine.  I had put some JBL 2360 horns on it, built my home theater around them and used them for a couple years.  The horns and tweeters are gone and not available.  So this is just the big cabinets with the University woofers.  If you have the space, they are some fine sounding speakers.

Here is the cl link with photos.

  2. By the way Denver folks, I've just decided to let the whole Heritage Klipsch Home Theater go.  This includes the Belles, and two pairs of matching Walnut Oil Forte IIs, and an Academy in Oak.  One of the pairs of Forte IIs I bought I was told the caps and tweeters were replaced with Crites.  I have never opened them up to verify that is the case, because I had no reason to doubt the seller.  I have not got around to figure out what I paid and what to ask for the Forte IIs.

No clue how I would get one back to Chicago but anyone want to split these?

Had you mentioned this 1 day earlier, I had a driver from uship heading back to Chicago and would've love the freight.  If you're ever looking to have something moved you can try uship and people will bid on transporting large items like speakers.

hmmmm....those look very familiar. Good guy to deal with.

@musicook  Good luck with the sale Dwight!

Thanks.  I just updated the post to include the original crossovers and tweeters in the sale.  I also did the suggested steel wool/watco walnut danish oil finish to clean them up.

Do you mean to have two pair and stack them or to just stack one pair for a center/mono?

I was joking...  I did mean stack on top.  I have vaulted ceilings, but I do have way too many huge speakers already.  The Belle's are currently aimed at my roommate's bedroom, so I don't think she'd appreciate it too much.  I have the belles and forte IIs in the living room.  Altec 19's and Valencias upstairs, and the huge University Classics in the basement.  I bought my Belle's from a forum member and I drove down to New Mexico to pickup.  I've only seen asking prices for Belles in Denver all over 2k, but don't know how much they've actually sold for.

  6. GP 416b is his new release of the 416-8b.  I'm guessing an old 416-8b in excellent condition or the new 416b is about $400 each.  I've seen people pay a lot more and I've seen people pay much less.  If it's what you want and it's local/accessible I guess I would go for them, but I would want to make sure they are in excellent condition and have the 416-8b, if you're concerned about resale at some later date.

  7. How good is that $2500 asking price?

    Those speakers look great naked.

I own 19's.  I think $2500 is on the high side.  From a value perspective, it is good to know what year it was made.  In the later years, the woofer model changed.  The most desirable woofer in this model is the 416-8b.  Replacing the later model 416-8c, with the 416-8b is not an readily available or inexpensive upgrade.  The 816-8b comes up on auction from time to time but go for several hundred a piece.  I've never heard of a "rare edition" with "wood cabinets" as described in the listing.

These will need the acoustic foam that goes around the horns, but that's available online for $35.

  8. Alberts wood grain Flying V guitar = bad stuff!

I've had several faded Olympic White strats trying to match the photo in the first post - SRVs "Butterscotch" strat.  And I often perform "Leave My Girl Alone" on my yellow strat just as he did on the Austin City Limits show.

  9. SRV is one of my biggest influences.  I had a band in college that played mostly SRV stuff.  I was at Alpine Valley for his second to last show, and I'll never forget that Monday afternoon, hanging by the radio, because they didn't initially announce who was on the helicopter other than Clapton's entourage.  I was preparing myself to hear that it was Clapton and was devastated to find out it was Stevie.  I was listening to SRV on my drive to work this morning and will continue on my way home.
