  1. Great progress being made.

I have Emotiva Gen 2 and Denon mix, so in the same family as Emotiva and Marantz. I can hear a slight hiss if I get really close. However, your 7s may act completely different than my Ultra THX2s. You could always try it out and send it back if you don't like it.

For Atmos, I went with 4 in ceiling direct radiators. I think they work perfect. Always funny the first time someone watches something at my house, they always start looking around at the ceiling and back wall to figure out where the sound is coming from. I would recommend buying the projector last. There is so much happening on the video side right now with UHD, HDR, Dolby Vision etc.

Thanks for taking the time to document your build. Love seeing your progress.

  2. I picked up a 70" Vizio M series from Amazon before the holidays for $1,650 delivered. There are some good settings for it on AVS and I am extremely happy with it. I moved up in size from a 46" top of the line Sony. Granted the Sony was 4 years old, but the Vizio has a better picture. Cannot justify the extra money for Sony/Samsung/LG with the rapidly changing landscape in TVs right now. I used to look down at Vizio, but they have a great bang for the buck proposition.

    My 2 cents.

  3. That is really interesting. The site says they use a Titanium Tweeter vs a Silk Dome Tweeter on the Klipsch. Guess I need to hook up and take a listen to see what it sounds like. :)

I am in Lincoln today and tomorrow.  If someone gets ahold of them, I would be willing to go take a look for you.  PM if you want.

  4.

Thanks everyone.  I just got a call and the speakers are found.  He delivered to 302 not 205.  Swore he put them on the front porch.  He said it was the duplex.  He delivered to a 4-plex.

    Dog is safe and sound.

    Last time I use UPS...

You know I was wondering about that.  We had that happen fairly recently from somebody else on the forum where the driver swore he delivered the goods, but he got the address mixed up.

There is nothing inherently wrong with UPS, or any of the other major carriers.  The problem is we only hear about the screw ups, and of course it leaves a bad taste in your mouth when it happens to you.  They successfully deliver millions of packages every day.  Just like everything else though, sometimes mistakes happen.

You are right.  It was a heat of the moment response.  They do deliver many without incidence.  Just frustrating that he was 0 fer at my place with two packages.

  5. Ordered 4 of the new Pro series ceiling speakers.  Normally my step-son is here sleeping because he works nights so I didn't bother getting a signature.  Corey and I discussed it and I assured him it would be fine.  Speakers delivered around 2 and step-daughter was home around 3:30 and there was no package.  Live in a duplex while our house is being built.  Next door neighbor also had packages delivered.  Our neighbor had one miss-delivered to the our same house number only the Court down the street.  This has happened to us before and I was driving up and she was just leaving getting her package.  UPS was less than kind and the driver swears he put it by the front door.

Police report filed and trying to get a hold of our insurance agent.  Lesson learned.  Always require a signature.

Looks like no Atmos speakers for me for a while.

Trying to not kick the dog...
