  1. I bought them! Paid $110 for them. Cabinets are in great shape except for a chunk missing out of the front bottom lip, not a big deal to me. Woofers and horns look fantastic and no issues with functionality. Hopefully I can move them into my house this weekend and push them a bit.
  2. Hey folks, Came across a pair of 4000's on craiglist for Cheap! Having a hard time finding any info on them though. Any of the experts here know these speakers? would they be considered an upgrade to KG 5.2's? Looking to add them to to my 2 ch analog system with plans to have a tube amp in the future Cheers Ray
  3. Thanks for the advise guys! I decided to just stick with the KG's and upgrade the crossovers and diaphragms. Also plan on refinishing the cabinets(black) which have seen better days lol
  4. Thanks for the reply Moray James, Sorry I wasn't clear in my first post but the pair of tangents that I have my eye on have been upgraded to titanium diaphragms by the current owner and he will also include the originals in a purchase. His asking price is $425 obo I have no problems doing upgrade work myself( I really enjoy it!) and have looked into the Bob Crites products and would travel down that avenue with either speaker. I guess my next question is would a crossover and titanium upgrade be more worthwhile on on the 2 way KG's or the 3-way Tangents. Cheers Ray
  5. Hi folks! New to the forum and a long time klipsch lover! I am looking to build a 2ch tube system over the next few months and looking for some recommendations. I currently have a pair of KG 5.2's in the basement but there are a couple pairs of klipsch speakers for sale locally that are peaking my interest. Wondering if it would be worth upgrading to a pair of tangent 400's(titanium diaphragms) vs the Kg's or maybe hold out for something better in the long run. I Don't consider myself an audiophile but the quality of sound is very important to me:) I listen to any type of music I can get my hands on even if I don't understand what they are saying lol I plan on going with a el34 tube amp or possibly a KT-88 depends on what I find a good deal on. Cheers Ray
