  2. I don't know why I'm just drawn to onkyo
  3. I like onkyo828 and denon x4000, any thoughts, they both have preouts
  4. So if I'm reading that right (0db) than that would mean that different recievers will have different volumes for 0db
  5. No I haven't yet, I am just exploring my options, is it hard to find avr with pre outs, I was thinking maybe something with about 125wpc and getting small 2channel amplifier to boost the fronts
  6. What is 0db on my avr volume control mean?
  7. True that, thanks for the help, I'm sure I'll have more questions soon;)
  8. i will say this I've been tinkering with it for about a month and sense I joined this form things have vastly improved through reading and asking my own questions this group is a huge resource, a lot of knowledge, I've always loved audio but just no time, when I started looking for speakers in the winter I started reading and there's a lot to know but, I'm getting there, things have kind of been on hold because I gutted my house, now it's done but I have to wait for the wires I ordered come in cause I'm using wire that I cut for my old room which this one is twice as big, so once it comes in ill be moving stuff anyway but it sounds 10x better than it did two days ago
  9. Actually, it's not bad at all but I just bought a 50" plasma for my daughter and I am going to give it to her to run my old polk speakers, even built her, her own room just so I can us mine!
  10. I was actually thinking maybe denon avr-4000 or marantz sr7007 I am not concerned at the moment about atmos seems like a money pit to me
  11. You mean leave speaker level at zero and turn up master volume to 80db
  12. When u say null/no change dialed in what do u mean
  13. Wow for some reason both my rears were turn way down, turned them up and problem solved, night and day
  14. yea, you can't trust your ears. Set the meter at you favorite listening position about ear height with the microphone pointing up then set each speaker volume the same (around 80 db or so)ill get one and give it a try, do i do that with all speakers playing
  15. I tried turning it and it didn't make it much better, maybe I need something a little bigger
  16. Like I say, I will be getting a new reciever in the very near future, so this will have the room correction, for right now I think this is probly as good as it will get, I been screwing with it for about a month
  17. I followed the manual when setting up and I will get one of those spl things
  18. I was getting a little distortion at very high volumes but I just switched fronts from large to small and it sounds perfect! Almost, lol
  19. Htr 3063 Yamaha, I am looking for new reiciever but haven't had Time yet, I calibrated it by just going through all the settings and doing it like that it sounds great when I get reiciever I will be putting rears, everything is hdmi except aux cable for phone
  20. so if I don't plan on moving them much than I shouldn't bother with banana plugs
  21. My avr has no auto set up and I'll see if I take a pic
