  1. After dampening my horns, I notice the foam insulation present inside the cabinets......boy does this look chezzy.....yellow crusty looking stuff. I would have to say this is really cheap on Klipsch's part if this is vital to the speakers performance.... Anyways my question is , is there a benefit of replacing this CHEAP CHEZZY looking foam with something else of better quality and by upgrading the foam what will the benefits be....? Deeper BASS I hope. I am open for suggestions on this topic. Thanks In Advance SOUPNAZI
  2. I just recently dampened my KLF-30's Horns ( hi's & mid's), I just used rope chaulk (couple of rolls )from Home Depot, WOW what a difference this tweak yielded. My system seems to very smooth and more tonaly balanced, I also took DeanG's advice to upgrade the caps in the X/Over with Auricaps which are order and will recieve them on Friday . I'll let you know how that tweak sounds......hopefully by Friday night... Good-Luck TWEAKING....!!!!!
  3. Hi all..... I finally got my KLF30 back from the fix it shop...they replaced the X over because the Mid wasn't working, anyhow the mid is fine now but the tweeter isn't working now ,so I replaced the voice coil with a spare I had...working now. What should be the resistance reading on a good voice coil off a KLF30 tweeter...?I did a continuity check and it failed... 4. Hi all.... this is my first post on this forum dedicated to Klipsch Speakers..... Anyways I have a pair of KLF 30's and one of the speakers midrange is scratchy at higher volumes, opened the the mid to reveal the voice coil ...it looked fine no burning so I assembled back but I switched the mid's around and the scratchy sound still there....so than I switched the entire cabinet around (left to right)through this process of elimination the finger points to the X over....now to my question is this covered under Klipsch Warranty, the speakers are three years old or will I have to pay out of pocket...? If so , would it be cheaper to buy a entire new X over or send the old one out to repair....? Any direction on this issue is greatly appreciated..... Thanks Again SOUPNAZI This message has been edited by SOUPNAZI on 12-25-2001 at 01:40 AM
